We thought about the Diesel being heavy too be as we are using the rear spring out of a Hilux on the front of the Zuk it should be alright.

Bit more progess.
Got the motor mounted, working on the gearbox etc.

Discovered the the Zuk body is going to have to undergo a major chop in the floor to accomodate the new drive train. :D

Okay the chassis is stripped and the motor is sitting place.
We now know that the body is going to have the drive tunnel cut out and replaced with a nice square sided sheet metal one. :D

Is the diff locator rod? (top of diff head goes forward to the chassis by the steering box)
If so then be careful when braking. This rod stop a really nasty pull sideways when you use the brakes hard.
If you have cross over steering then you don't need it at all.

A whole 2.2ltrs of pure diesel power
Will do the job well and it was free. The guy who gave it to us is even going to come and pick up the body once we are finished with it.

Nothing flash on the road ( read..... SLOW ) Totally different story in low range with the 5.29 diffs.
Goes hard and just keeps going. Been drowned several time now and it still won't die. :D :D

Don't bag me.... I know that the pressure hose is attached to the wrong pipe on the steering box.

Well, 7hrs all up to mount and make work power steering. And it still doesn't work. Starting to think that there may be a problem with the steering box. :roll:

Oh well, I'll get it sorted eventually ;)
