4wd systems turbo

Hi guys,

I'm looking at fitting a turbo to my GQ.
I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with the TD42 turbo kit from 4wd systems. what's included in the kit? and if there is anything else i need to get on top of the kit.

Thanks, any info is much appreciated.

hi johnflink,

not sure if yours has the same issue but i had one that was doing the same thing, turned out to be the guage sender leaking and i was told that it was a common issue, so before pulling the pump out i would try checking the pressure with a test guage first.

do a bit of ringing around, i managed to source some new aftermarket fixed glasses for them from a mob here in dubbo and you can just use generic 'H' seals to fit them, however if you want to keep the sliding windows you can get the frames off ebay sometimes for about $200 each and you just swap ...

if it helps mechanical guages also used to be known as a capillary guage, so as zagan said, in the instance of oil pressure, you would run a small (1/8th or 1/16 inch) pipe into the guage which can lose accuracy, however, Zagan, that is why aircraft guages are required to be calibrated at certain ...

the welds should, one slightly shrink the plug and two the heat should break any seal (ie ...

White smoke is a sign of a cold motor= replace the glowplugs.

Black smoke is a sign of a rich mixture= not a major drama in a diesel

Blue smoke is from oil being burnt=replace either rings or get the valves lapped in (they may need "K liners" too) and new valvestem seals fitted.

If your ...

I just rebuilt mine and when you come to getting the bearing with part number 63/32NC3 get the same bearing WITHOUT a groove in it, as the one with the groove costs around $1500, or thats the best price i could get but the one without only costs around $40, the groove is not required.
