Also 3jays, you don't happen to have or know of a rear mounted tank for a 45 anywhere?

Re: pics wanted 40 series SWB ute (Found some pics)
I couldn't find any 45 tops worth salvaging unfortunately. All the good ones have been taken it seems and replaced with dented/rusted ones.
Plenty of trays but only 1 good quality 'tub' style one that I could see and its mine

Re: pics wanted 40 series SWB ute (Found some pics)
Pics of your ute? :finger: Just bought myself another 45 and scored a rear tub in good nick. No i'm unsure if I want to do the ute conversion on the 40, or the bobbed tray conversion on the 45. hmmmm I do like the look of this bad boy. http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac302/droopzanonymous/Short ...

Re: pics wanted 40 series SWB ute (Found some pics)
55 Spring swap with reversed rear hangers will give about 100mm in extra wheelbase. The mod is very common and well documented.

Shorty45, I freaking love it. Can't wait to start mine. Picking up my 55 springs this arvo, then installing them and the lengthened tail shaft on the weekend. Then its bobbing time

Re: pics wanted 40 series SWB ute (Found some pics)
Ah ok. I'll pick out the one i want to use, do the conversion, see if i like it. Then wait a few weeks and let you know, so you can COPY ME. :finger: Seriously though. I know there are at least 2 down in the grave yard, but I'll see what the metal is like around the wheel arches to see if they are ...

Re: pics wanted 40 series SWB ute (Found some pics)
Scratch that. One day of looking I found spare 55 springs and a bunch of cabs.
Did you want a 40 cab to bob, or just a 45 cab?

Re: pics wanted 40 series SWB ute (Found some pics)
You can't do it because I'm going to do it first. The key to making it look good on a 40 is you HAVE to get the rear axle back. This is the look I'm going for next. http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac302/droopzanonymous/Ranks%20FJ43/sideshotboxbob.jpg http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac302 ...

Show me your effys!
Looking to get some inspiration for the F100 build that I have just started for the GF. Specificly looking for more examples of flat/tube style trays like these, http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac302/droopzanonymous/F-100/IMG_0282small.jpg http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac302/droopzanonymous ...

I'm another one from the anti camp. I recently removed the body lift that the PO had in my 40. Not much to be aware of really. Make sure your lines and wires are extended were needed. Especially the solid lines to your brake booster assembly. You'll lose a bit of shifter length etc... What was the ...

Didnt the HJ47 get a splitcase with driveshaft drum handbrake? Discs work well till they take a hit and get warped, then theyre useless.. Yeah I realise the issues that come with the disc setups, but this is honestly only to appease registration requirments, as for any situation where I actually ...

I agree mate, and I think that will be the way to go. Using the 60 diffs isn't really an option for me and up here to get anything wider than 50mm over standard approved involves alot of painful and expensive testing, and I'm already close to that limit running my 38s. I might look at a wider diff ...

Thank all. My next question is did the 84-89 60s come with a transfercase mounted handbrake? Alternativly does anyone know of a suitable disc brake kit for a H55F? I'm running a 75 FJ40 with the non parking brake drum rear. Just looking for options to get one in. EDIT: After some more reading it ...

Help IDing a transfer case/gearbox
Hi all. Just wondering if someone coud give me a hand to identify the 5 speed and transfer case that was installed in my FJ40 This is a really bad pic of the rear of the case incase someone here recognises it; http://i47.tinypic.com/dwp6qo.jpg I'm told its a 5 speed out of a another series cruiser ...
