Re: Opinions on an alloy radiator in a ln106 2.8

Interesting what people's thoughts are but I suppose keeping with what the car was originally bought out with is probably the best option and just beefing it up as much as possible.

Re: Opinions on an alloy radiator in a ln106 2.8

Well I have spoken to some guys and decided to go with the brass copper 3 core. I spoke to a guy at Belmont auto electrics called Shannon and he builds a lot of radiators for 4wds with the same some of problem and has got onto a core that is apparently the bees knees. It's 57 mm thick instead of my ...

Ah that's very interesting reading there struth and ill be taking that on board for sure. I'm thinking after doing some research ill look at beefing up my brass unit. Can I get a 4core put in instead of a 2core or can I only fit a 3 in those engine bays.

Any reason for your thoughts on the brass being better struth. My old man just paid $800 bucks for his copper unit to be recorded and I thought it was a big steep but I'm yet to chase around prices from my local shops.

Re: Opinions on an alloy radiator in a ln106 2.8

Did u buy a 3 core 62 mm rad or a standard size. I looked at eBay but thought IDE rather go through natrad or somewhere along those lines. From my understanding the factory radiator is only a 2 core 45mm. Am I correct in that.

Opinions on an alloy radiator in a ln106 2.8

Looking at getting a 3 core to replace my standard radiator after turboing my lux. Been up in the high country and it hasn't been liking driving some of the long steep winding hill. My old man just got a custom made brass one for his 2.8 turbo 4runner and has fixed all the problems he had but cost ...

Re: 2.8 diesel 4 runner overheating issues

Yeah I think a cooler of some sort wouldn't go astray for the turbo itself and was thinking about an oil cooler to keep oil temps down but I didn't know if they were much chop. On another note that truck of yours brad is a weapon. I'm hoping to do similar to mine within the next few years when the ...

Re: 2.8 diesel 4 runner overheating issues

They guy we bought it off threw a timing chain and destroyed the head. So it was replaced. Radiation has been flushed and the thermostat. The only problem is driving hills not when normal driving is done so my thought was maybe too much boost and fuel. He is getting the fan hub serviced this coming ...

2.8 diesel 4 runner overheating issues

Hey guys. Old man had got an issue with his 2.8 turbo diesel 4 runner. It has a Denco turbo system on it and just had the head replaced but now when driving up hills it's heating up. When using the a/c it's worse again. Cooling system has been flushed and a new thermostat. My ideas were to check the ...

Re: HELP! Death wobbles happen unless Wheels toe out

My hilux has been sased so was originally independent. Mine isn't that bad that its undrivsble just annoying. I put a steering dampener on it and did fix it a lot but I went to fit a set of extended shakles and it's came back bader then ever and felt bad under breaks. So I'm pretty well dumbfounded ...

I'm in need of help tracking driveline problem ln106

Hey guys. I've got a hilux that has been SASed it's a dualcab sr5 and at around 60 Kms it seems to bounce around. It doesn't feel like a wheel alignment problem but I'm sort of stumped. Mods are SAS with a buds dropped cross memeber and 2 inch springs with standard shakles. I've replaced the t/shaft ...

4 runner modification info

Hey guys. Old mans got a 4runner and he is talking bout cab lifting it and wants some bigger tread. His tyre placard says 205 r15 so I'm guessing 31 10.5 are the biggest he can go. What are his best options for a legal lift, bj spacers or are cab lifts legal or do they have to be engineered. We are ...

I got the timing kit done and new harmonic balancer. Driveline shutters can be caused by gear box and engine mounts. Had a bad shutter after changing my clutch. Checked out everything mechanics told me to and need up being my gearbox mount. Could be worth a try.
