so to run say 33's wat will i need to do??? with the calmini kit??? 31's will be more than enough.. i have wheeled my vit hard on 31's for years now. 33's are more trouble than they are worth.
yes i do have the calmini kit and have had for a while now. very good. would not bother with custom crap ...

i have the 6" combo.

found the body lift crap (2" box section), so i pulled out the box and run a 1" body lift. still clear 31's easily. 2" body lift with a few in the springs will allow you to run 32's, needs a little massaging with a hammer though.

i would go suspension lift first. you use it everyday, and the car looks better from the start. you sink 1500 into a locker and you only get to use it offroad. you don't get the benefit of onroad driving with a locker as you do everyday with a quality suspension system.

yep i got the 3" suspension and the trailtough 4.24:1 crawler gears, also have a bit of extra weight from the rear drawers and the 6 point cage. twin locked running 31's. no problems, oh and a 1" body lift.

ok found problem, when i used PTT, the volt meter on the car would rise, only possible explanation was the ariel was earthing. the core of the coax was sticking out, cut it back and problem is all fixed.

nah mate, i just installed it and turned it on. tried to use it and the player stopped working. didn't get a chance to get hot at all.

i have a positive running directly to the uhf, and then just earthed it under the dash. and now i cannot turn the cd player on at all.

I have just installed a tx3200 in the slot below my CD player, everytime i press the PTT button, the CD player stops playing. Happens on both radio and playing a CD. I haave been fiddling around with it and the player will now not turn on. No fuses are blown. What has happened? If i buy another head ...

there is a little bush on the end of the gearstick. pop the gear stick out, you may find this is split and needs replacing.

option for stronger diff: for the front is a steel diff from xl-7. you would have alloy right now. for the rear, calmini sell heavy duty rear axles, but you need the older model axle setup for that. (4 bolts one) you got the newer one.
I don't have any power problems unless i am towing my boat ...

yep, i got camber bolts too. have been pushed pretty hard and never had a problem.

if you want to hear for fuel just put the ignition on and listen for a little hum coming from the rear where the tank is. try some start ya bastard up the air intake.

the rears had no rebound , and the fronts are made in mexico i think! errr thats because they are not gas... commodore shocks are designed for much more weight, i tried them in the back of my vit for a while and found they were crap for ride quality onroad/offroad, so i stuck with the calmini ...

i think 94/95 onwards, the swb vits come with the lwb engine, 1.6 EFI. i got a 96 and its efi. the lwb had efi alot earlier than the swb.

the only way to get reduction in high range is to change the diff ratios. the only ones i know of are the calmini 5.83:1 ratios. have not tried them.

from memory around 300-400 to get it done. and no, the gears won't reduce the high range.

yeah, i got 4.24 trail tough gears. i got them installed by someone else, had to take out a bit of the alloy housing for them to fit properly.

welding diffs is a different concept to what you are asking about.

In general, 'cheap' alternatives will end up costing you more money and time, due to ...

save for the 4.24:1, it will be hassle free int the long run, instead of some custom crap which will take ages to make and always have problems.

i have had 235/75 MT/R's and 31/10.5 BFG muds on my car, both were brand new and performed well, simex on a suzi are overrated, they don't bag out enough with a light weight vehicle. personally i would go bfg muds 30/9.5

i got a six point cage in mine, but its a soft top. middle mounts are just behind the front seats, and rear mounts are at the very back in the corners on the wheel arches. fronts come past the a pillar and through the dash down to the floor near your feet.
