depends on wat sorta tune u want? if ur worried about the egt then get the pump turned down, in doing that u will loose hp of coarse. i wouldn't be too worried as 550 is considered safe i know ppls who go alot higher for short times. post or pre turbo is the pryo ? the probe is about 1-2 inches ...

my 2001 4.2 had a dts intercooler & stage 1 kit fitted 6 years ago with a 21/2 inch exhaust but std dump & was running 94 rwkw 20psi boost & etg's @300 doing 100ks & would only go to 400-450 when pushed hard & towing a 1.5ton camper & up to 500deg on rare occasions but it has just spat an exhaust ...
