Re: 343,000km on my 2.8D hilux - too many k's for a turbo?

Id try a thicker oil 10W is a bit thin for an older diesel IMO. Any decent mechanic should be able to diagnose where and what the noise is, tappets might need a shim or 2. Could also be a pulley bearing in the front. Ah alright, shall get a mech soon to check out what's that sound and hopefully to ...

Re: 343,000km on my 2.8D hilux - too many k's for a turbo?

A knocking that speeds up and down with the revs could be a few things. Whats the mileage on the motor and how often have you changed the oil? It could be a tappet sound which is normally caused by lack of or poor oil. Maybe change with some decent 20w60 to see if it goes away. Worst case is it ...

Re: 343,000km on my 2.8D hilux - too many k's for a turbo?

It's constant with the revs. Any ideas what's that sound is? If the sound is negliable i'd like to find someone who ...

Re: Cant bleed brakes on hilux

i've got a feeling that your brake booster might be leaking or isn't big enough to support the bigger brakes. I had brakes like that once on my previous ride when i upgraded from front only disc to full disc on the car using the old brake master pump and booster and the brakes felt just like what ...

Re: '89 Toyota 4 Runner

You should have a look at BG's turbo on the rockylux 3l engine. Not a CT20 turbo, safari or some make like that. Will give you an insight anyway. yeah, prolly will go eyeball his setup when i meet him or we could do so together during the trip. just hope he brings the rockylux instead of the triton ...

Re: '89 Toyota 4 Runner

31's should be ok (and a common tyre size on Hiluxes) as you are allowed to fit slightly larger than the largest tyre available for that model. Do some searching for the exact limits over that are allowed. yeap searched out already. the tires should not exceed 15mm bigger than original size which ...

Haha i see, well i've checked the tire specs and if i'm not wrong it was somewhere around ...
