Topic: Rebuilding/Servicing waterpump for '93 v8i Disco'

In the end I got hold of an aftermarket one for only $144 so it was a replacment only.

Having pulled the old one off, the seal had totally gone from around the spline and the impellor had chewed a groove around the opposite side of the waterpump, not a pretty site!

Rebuilding/Servicing waterpump for '93 v8i Disco'

Hi All, A friend's 1993 Discovery 3.5 V8i is pouring out water from what looks like the water pump itself. Part no. STC483. Has anyone pulled one of these down and if so, know what part tends to need replacing? I got a mate that owns a bearing and gasket place and he'll see if he has a suitable part ...

Cav Style setup for 2002 TD5 II Disco' needed.

Hi All, Having problems finding the right CAV style filter system to replace the standard 4 port system on the TD5 2002 II Disco'. Thought I had it nailed with the Ryco R2132UA but the inlets on this are smaller than the hose fittings, but also the port configuration is opposite (not sure if this is ...

Farout that is cheap, got a contact number for a couple of these places, would be worth shipping it down and getting it done, I am dead keen on a set of scuba tanks but don't want to pay retail, I just can't seem to find them - they get scouped up pretty quickly, I whitepages(d) haines gas but didn ...

Hi All, $190 to test a tank in Brisbane? Do you guys have Haines Gas in QLD? They charge me $45 to test my LPG 70ltr tank and $15 to test my scuba tanks. the lpg test comes with the new plate put on by them. BTW, you do have a gas gerry can if you have a BBQ. You can get a kit that uses the safety ...

Hi Tom, OK, I got the mixer through Barralong Mechanics in Erina NSW as through them it was $195 and through another installer it was $400! The $400 guy obviously thought I wouldn't get a quote elsewhere. ( What a dill!) Barralong also has the gas analyser but I have one of my own too, a handheld ...

Have now completed running through two tanks of fuel with an additional main jet adjustment. Am now averaging 320k's per tank. Obviously I'm much happier than the days of 225k's per tank on the 425 mixer.

I will make some further adjustments and see if I can mileage up a bit further.

OK, Got the 225 mixer and installed it. Didn't change main jet settings or anything else, simply removed the 425, installed the 225 with adaptors and away I went. Have just finished the 2nd tank of gas and have averaged 265k's per tank, up 40k's from when the 425 was installed. I noted that idle ...

Hi Guys, I am now in the process of getting a brand new 225 to replace the secondhand 425. I did have an analyser on whilst tuning and we couldn't get it below 7.99% Co2 ( I think), which is obviously WAY too high. There was lots of "meat" left in the idle screw on the mixer, just couldn't get that ...

Tuning LPG kit in '93 Disco'

Hi All, Almost a year ago, I installed an lpg kit in my Disco'. I got it certified afterwards to make sure it was all fitted OK which it was. I had installed a 70l tank with an impco system using the 425 mixer. I still have petrol as well. Initially, I was getting 300k's to the tank on LPG but in ...

G'day all, I have been installing my own lpg kit and have gotten to the electrical component of the install. Looking for Issue 122 of the mag AutoSpeed

G'day all,

I am trying to find a copy of Issue 122 of the mag AutoSpeed (20th March, 2001). If you have an online copy even better. The article I'm after is called "Getting Gas" and profiles an Impco LPG gas installation.

TIA
