I'm not sure what your friend is talking about, maybe he's thinking of someone else 'cause it adjust both ways. CW more fuel, CCW less fuel...

Re: adjusting fuel td42
Someone asked about the easiest way to adjust the fuel. I only use two tools, the 13mm open wrench and a multi screwdriver.
Simply undo the return fuel hose at the IP to move it out of the way and you'll have enough space to adjust the fuel screw... If it's never been done before you'll need to ...

On my old truck it did a big difference but not as much on this one. Might have to do that it's a low
Km truck already running well or that It works better and I can't tell... On the long run though it will make a difference and on the short run it made me realize I really need to clean my intake ...

GT2560R on GQ TD42?
Seems like all the talk goes to the GT2860RS but wouldn't the smaller GT2560R still be a good option for a GQ?
It's for my daily driver, lots of city and decent offroad. I don't pull trailers, don't drive like I stole it... It will have water/meth injection and I'm also considering mounting my W2A ...

Re: Water to air intercooler
Sounds good.
I have another style of radiator for mine. It's a 3cm tube with 6cm circular fins (disks) all around and it's about 40cm long. I might need two of them but they should be way easier to mount and hopefully be more efficient. Has anyone used this type before?
Pictures will be welcome ...

Wow, that's one nice engine bay! Well done!
It's nice how you modified your intake manifold, do you have any pictures of the process? It'd be great as well to see how/where you mounted your radiator?
Cheers,
Mr. D

TD42 EGR Removal
I posted this on Patrol and thought it might help some on this side...
I know it's much easier to just block it but why keep parts that aren't needed and get in the way of your next mods?

Re: EGR shim.
Looks great!
But I agree with above reply, I would re-use your gasket if it's still in good shape on the intake side of your blocking plate, not on the EGR side...
Cheers,
Mr. D

Re: GQ patrol air box replacement???
I'm building a custom air filter set up and plan on using a Donaldson air box but need to confirm the cfm required for my GQ TD42 NA for now but soon to have a turbo.
Anyone with an answer for me? (don't mean to hijack but seems still related and might help...)
Thx,
Mr. D

I think this might help?
This is how I removed (not blocked) the EGR on my '93 GQ TD42. There's pictures on that link as well...

Re: 4" snorkel head?
Cheers for the info!
3.5" is the largest I've found on ebay. Those on the link look like the Donaldson unit with louvers but their angle is 90* unlike the Safari unit that have a more pronounced angle... which works better for my application.
bj on roids, which 4" snorkel head do you have access ...

4" snorkel head?
I haven't had any luck finding a Ram style 4" snorkel head for my custom set up. I'm in Canada but just a short drive to the USA. Seems like a few of you guys in Australia run them, any idea where I could find one?

Re: Custom Snorkel
Sure helps, thanks!
Seems like I'll have a lot more "relocation" happening as I have two vacuum bottle, fuel filter and some AC parts partially in the way... But I still love how this "shorty" set up took out a few bends and over a meter of tube from the typical Safari style. Well done!

Aluminum Snorkel, why not?
I see a lot of stainless or "plastic" snorkels but hardly any custom aluminum ones, is there a reason? I can get 1/8" thick wall 4" aluminum tube for way cheaper than stainless. I'm pretty sure it'd be plenty strong and easier to paint.
Your thoughts?
Thanks,
David

Re: dsr turbo and manifolds?
They have the option between Internal V-band Turbocharger or External 5 bolt Flange Turbocharger. V-band seem easier to mount, any issues with that style over the 5 bolts if building a custom 3" downpipe?

Have you had problem connecting your earth (-) to the chassis, then when the draw got too high it smoked some wires that were smaller grounds as it was trying to use them as well?

Re: winch 8274 hook up question
Hi Cris,
Connecting to the starter would simplify things greatly for me and would be the best scenario but almost everyone else I've asked told me it was a must to connect directly to the batteries? It'd be great if they were all wrong... Can you confirm? Any drawbacks with going to the starter ...

winch 8274 hook up question
Hi,
I have a 8274 waiting to be mounted on my truck (GQ 24v TD42 Nissan Safari).
My batteries are relocated inside the cab (behind second row) so I wonder if it's a must to connect the winch directly to the batteries or if I could connect somewhere else in the engine bay?
Thanks
David

TD42, is it a Full or Swirl pre-cumbustion chamber?
Quick question.
Anyone knows if my GQ 4.2 n/a diesel has a swirl combustion chamber or a full pre-combustion chamber similar to the older Mercedes?
Thinking ahead for my veggie conversion, ie. single tank vs. dual tank...
Thanks!
