Split second row seats [80 Series]
Hi all,
I've got a 1992 HZJ80 base model, which has barn doors, a cargo barrier and a one piece "fold and tumble" second row of seats. After the years of ownership I have lamented on removing the cargo barrier so I don't have to put surfboards on the roof racks (or timber from bunings!) and put it ...

If you're talking about the WK2 JGC (2011 onwards) then it's not a Merc diesel, its a VM Motori engine (50/50 owned by Fiat and GM). The WK JCG from 2005 to 2011 had the Merc Sprinter diesel in it...

anyone in Bris have a diesel compression tester to loan?
short story - I wanna turbo the 1HZ but would like to know the inside of my motor first.
Save me buying a $90 tester off flebay that I will use once, does anyone in brisbane have one they want to loan me, or alternatively, I can even drive to your house and have a beer with you while I quickly do ...

Do they allow you to do front digs (ie do they disconnect the front driveshaft?) or is that something different?

I didn't know there was a fine... the only time I've been done I was sent to the pits. You DO NOT want to be sent to the pits.

There is no such thing as "getting something engineered" in Queensland (unless you're referring to mod plating, which, as stated above, cannot be done for tyres).

Help me identify this fuel filter..
Hey dudes,
So I serviced the cruiser today (1992 80 Series with 1HZ), I had oil & fuel filters pre-purchased from Repco.. Oil was no worries, I get the 1HZ fuel filter and it is different to the one on my car. The Ryco and Repco branded fuel filters have a big probably 20 cent coin sized hole on ...

Re: front diff locker worth it?
People need to stop comparing Air Lockers to Auto Lockers.
Air locker + compressor - $1500
Auto locker (Spartan) - $290
That alone makes them no comparison.
For the record, I just got this below Spartan locker delivered to my door from Wayneharwig (on Pirate4x4) who works at Diffsonly.com. It is ...

Re: What is a "clutch damper" HZJ80 Landcruiser
problem fixed... gave the entire clutch system a full flush (heaps of crud came out!), new quality fluid and it seems good again.
I do suspect however the clutch master is on the way out - it is 20 years old anyway. I will replace this sometime over the next few weeks..

What is a "clutch damper" HZJ80 Landcruiser
So my clutch is not returning to the regular position after depressing the pedal - after some googling of the symptoms it seems I have the same problems as "Bugs" from this ExplorOz link .
It talks about the clutch damper being the cause of these issues... I am not a mechanic (far from it), but I ...

I should clarify further... I know that the small spring is threaded into the clutch, but to be more specific, how does the pawl attach to the small spring to pull it out? As far as I can comprehend, the pawl just sits on the small spring. I'm not sure I am being clear enough...

I did watch that video.. thanks Zoltan. Below is an extract from the workshop manual - I have circled in red the parts that I am not comprehending.
How does the spring-pawl-spring attach to the clutch to pull it out (i.e. disengage)?

Re: Free wheel hub assembly rebuild - engage / disengage iss
so we put it all back together, it seems there is nothing that actually disengages the FWH from the axle - I guess just the spinning force makes it come undone... very weird, but the problem has been solved (I guess)...
