Re: GQ 5L Conversion slave cylinder issues

Sounds like when you adjust the master cylinder up to get a pedal you adjust it past the transfer port which allows the fluid to return to the reservoir so it feels rock hard when you try to push the clutch fork back with a lever (effectively the same as having your foot still half on the clutch ...

Re: shimmed up lsd question

Sorry to revive an old thread. Did you diff loosen up at all? I'm considering shimming mine up but worried it will lock it solid. Pep Ended up pulling mine out as i wanted a different ratio with my LS1, never loosened up but cut the life of the tyre in half or worse.. didnt bother with the new diff ...

Re: 5L manual to auto conversion

You can run a few different boxes .. patrol and late model commodore (4l60e,4l65e) autos require electronic input, early commodore (th700) dont except for lockup converter. If you only need a 3 speed go th400.. check out marks 4wd adaptors

Re: GQ/ GU Genuine manual locking hubs

Everyone tells me go factory nissan .. havent ...

Re: real world results of superior arms

I have these on my gq 5" lift flex is awsome . But under brakes dives on LHS and lifts RHS due to the design , so i wouldn't run them on a daily . Very unnerving at high speed braking . how bad? does it still steer straight or dive off the road? was looking at getting a set of 4" for my daily :?

thanks .. I have vcm suite so i can change the pcm output to calibrate it but that wont help while the needle doesnt move.. figured that seeing a set of points used to run it it shouldnt be too hard to get working..

looked into doing rb30/26 into mine .. from memory using the tb42 auto box with rb25 auto trans bellhousing and flex plate with a 300zx convertor(patrol has a bigger input shaft than rb25.. pretty sure 300z was the same size) will work

My experience is if you shim them to lock you get that, if you shim them tight and go to ormeau it will be same as normal limo by the time you get home, complete waste of money and time Hey mavzilla how many shims have you put in? I was told put 2 in to tighten it up n 4 almost locks it.. I was ...

GQ Brake upgrades

About to put an LS1 in my GQ (factory 4.2 carby) and figured it best to upgrade the brakes before I do..
I want to keep my 15 " wheels.

Any suggestions? can skyline or cruiser 4 spots be converted to suit?
