Re: 12ht intercooler

I spoke to a guy at ARE , hes located just north of Brisbane. He produces by far the most efficient precooler on the market with the least turbo lag. He has templates for most 4wd except for the 12HT :bad-words: The only down side is its about $5k fitted for the water to air kit. Incidently, the ...

Where are we up to with the build? Is it on the road yet? I think we could all learn from your findings.

Coupling / Guage

Gee your engine looks clean :P

What engine do you have? Also I was wondering what coupling/pyro guage you have? It certainly looks like a good fit.

Thanks for all the help.

Laminove Intercooler

There is a guy building laminova precoolers and having them tuned with Dieseltech. Apparently they have been getting some great results. Most of the work he's been doing has been on Patrols.

Hope that helps.

Battery Recommendation

I have a Toyota Landcruiser 24v. Can anyone suggest the type (wet acid, gell type) and CCA that would best suit 2 batteries acting as one?

Sunroof

Im looking forward to seeing the step by step installation. I have a 61 series VX Sahara, japanese import. Are their different types of sunroof setups from the factory? Mine is a little different than that discribed in the Australian workshop manual, particularly the trim.

Filter Kits

Has anyone heard of the "Wesfil Nippon Max" filters? I spotted them on ebay at a very good price but I normally use Ryco. Has anyone had any experience with this brand of filter.

Just seems strange that the company would put a loom and a light in which is obsolete for the glow plug! The truck has the original engine as well which makes it even more strange.

Glowplug Light 12HT

My glow plug light does not come on when the ignition switch is turned on. I've checked the globe and its fine, so are the fuses. I've been waiting for 15sec before I turn the engine on and it seems to start fine but the light should come on. Any ideas where I should be looking to track down the ...

Pre or Post turbo installation for EGT probe?

Im just about to install a EGT gauge on my 12HT and there seems to be alot of pros and cons to the installation site of the probe, in the manifold or post turbo. Is there a more appropriate place in the manifold or adaptor plate to drill and tap a hole? Is it recommended to remove the turbo to clear ...

Thanks Shaun, I read the thread with interest regarding Matts skills at fabricating these laminova intercoolders for a GU Patrol. They had some great results but seem to be still fine tuning. I wonder if they have got to the design that they're happy with and what the final results have been. I have ...

Bit of both, Im after a little more poke with a reduction in my EGT's. I have horses and just about everytime the Toy comes out on the road its working pulling a load. A front mount bar and plate is an option but the results dont seem to be as impressive as the Laminover air/water.

12HT Laminova Aftercooler

Has anyone had any experience fitting a laminova water/air aftercooler to a 12HT. Releated benefits/disadvantages to a air/air aftercooler. Fittting problems as a front mount. I understand Dieseltech have had some great experiences with a Patrol?

Im no mechanic but Ive been told that this is due to rich fuel mixture, unburnt fuel. Another option would be to increase the boost but all these changes should be done on a dyno.
