That is good to hear it's sort of normal. Mine has only done twice I think in the last 6 months. still drives fine apart from that....

I have had the same thing happen with our 80 series, was sitting ina drive thru at a take away shop and it smoked like crazy when taking off. Ours has about 300,000 klms on it with the last 30,000 being on gas. I've also got a valve lube system on it & thought it may have just sucked a heap of that ...

Well I just went out to take some pics and traced a yellow/blue wire from the charge light and hooked it up to the plug on the regulator and taadaa! it bloody works

so thanks for your intended help but I stumbled over a solution.....
