Yes, they will fit. Had mine delivered with 285/75-16. They will touch on the front at full suspension travel/compression but only just.

Got a 76 GXL and love it. Tow the camper trailer with it mainly, about 1.5 ton, and find it really good for towing. Power wise it is great and way ahead of the 1HZ with aftermarket turbo. I have to gear down on the long hills, Back to 4th, but I think I'll cure that with a chip and exhaust... Have ...

I have a 76 wagon with the factory lockers. Have lifted it two inches, put 285/75 MTZ on, Bulll bar, rails, steps, 12000lb winch and a long range tank (160l). As dumbdunce said, overpriced but when you drive it you'll love it. On road it's great although you do need to keep the tyres balanced but ...

Re: 80s ARB bull bar/winch bar??

does the ARB bull bar/winch bar bolt up on the inside of the chassis or the outside? could some one please measure how far apart the bull bar/winch bar mounts are from each other? I've been offered an ARB bull bar that has been modified to accept a low mount winch for $250.00 which I'm wanting to ...

Austimages,

Give Jason at Total Care 4wd in Seven Hills a call 02 9838 9779. He's doing a lot of motor swaps with the 1HDFTE into 75's, 80's, 100's and even a Patrol. He'd be keen to have a chat about swapping the 1VDFTE into a 100.

I call BS. if the spacer becomes loose, it is because the bearings have collapsed, not the spacer. with or without the spacer, it is the nut that keeps the bearings in place. collapsible or solid, all the spacer does is give you something to do the nut up tight against. all the loads on the pinion ...

Get rid of the factory crush spacer on the pinon and get a solid one machined up for it. This will help with strenght. It stops the pinion from "seperating" from the crown wheel especially in reverse. Did mine about three years ago and have not busted one yet. Has an ARB locker.

Chris, the guy who is doing thios swap has done a couple of 1HDFTE's into 105's. The ute motor and puter is the way to go as they dont use the chipped key and you dont need to swap the dash over.
