he said the compression of 4and6 was slightly below nissan spec's so he rebult it along with diffs & gearbox

Hi guys i was just woundering if 30 grand is too mich to pay for a gu with td42 with lockers 35's lift winch everything it has just been rebuilt 20 k ago and has only got 177 thousand

thanx guys ive already converted my full time transfer from full time to part time but sick of it engaging every now and then.... so i was thinking of ditching it and replacing it with the dx model and having the more reliable way with no electrics.

hey mate put it in my self fairly easy job aye. i got the marks adaptors kit.
but in saying that i wouldnt convert a full time transfer again i would put one of the standard dx 80 series transfer case in its more reliable and your not worrying bout switching gear to pull it in to 4wd.

hey guys my 80 series is making a clunking noise when driving straight and turning only when I put it into 4wd. I don't think it is engaging fully and is slipping any one had this problem before.

i have a 80 series gxl 4.5l it has been converted to part time been working for the past 6 months or so but just then i went for a bit of a play then when i turned around in a preety tight circle there was a loud clunking noise coming from either the transfer case or the front diff or the tail shaft ...

yea i got castors done at the same time and you would be better off converting it to part time as the double cardinal isnt designed to run all the time they flog out preety quick. i extended my sawy bars for the same reason and allso ive heard of story's of people not getting insurance cus thay ...
