Why would toyota make 8 different looms for Prado's? I can assume that there might be a difference in base model to grande, but a vx is a grande minus air suspension, leather and centre console fridge. Well the old girl finally ticked over 200,000kms!!
Had to pull over and get a picture!

I took it for a "general service" since its now done 200K.
The end result including new stub axles, hubs, bearings, disc rotors, shoes & pads, brake cables, engine mount & a stong lecture to drive more carefully ...

Heres my subs........ boot & back seats went out the window years ago!
I have Pioneer 6x9 4 ways in the rear, set of jvc 6x4's in the front (where the standards go) running through a jvc mp3 player.. The 2 10" Alpine type s are run by a kicker 2x100w amp bridged...... Sounds pretty good!

I have the CD900 antenna (made by RFI), and i cant speak highly enough of it.
It is fairly small and thin, and according to all the write ups on it, it is the best around at the moment. It's a 6.5db over 1/4 wave.

Its only about 3ft but its meant to be unbreakable, the antenna has good flex and ...

Update

I had the front wheels off to replace the front pads.. I noticed that when i had the hub on the drivers side locked in and spun the disc, the shaft spun and turned the shaft on the passengers side also.

BUT: when i locked the pass. side hub in and spun the disc, it didnt make the shaft ...

Hey mate

Not sure about the rockys, but the aussie feroza's have the fuel pump mounted on the inside of the chassis rail (drivers side back wheel)...... the fuel filter is mounted in the engine bay.

I played around with the shifter and it definatly sounds like its going in (without force)... i am going to get the engine mount fixed and ill get the boys at cross country 4x4 to see ...

okay - sorry if that sounded stupid, but you may have broken both unis and the shaft just fell out.....

another stupid question - r u sure you were in 4wd????

They are not stupid questions.... and yes it was definately going into 4wd you could hear the selector clicking in to both H4 and L4 ...

No that i can see... the CV's come straight out of the transfer case.... i cant spin them manually when the hubs are locked, which apparently means they are not broken

G'day all

I went out for a bit of a play yesterday and have discovered that with my front hubs locked in.. i dont have front wheel drive.

I know that i broke an engine mount, but would that have anything to do with it??

And yes i found out the hard way...... in a rut!

Hey guys

I spent the arvo taking the dash apart. Thanks heaps for the advice, it made the job a whole lot easier.

The globe behind the heater controls olny took about 5 minutes to get out and replace.

The dash was pretty easy as well, Basically there are a few screws above the tacho and ...

How easy it it to get the dash out??
I have a blown globe on the dash...... well i have a few actually!

1 is behind the tacho (green back light) so obviously the speedo section needs to come out there.. any pointers??

The other 1 i noticed last night is all the back lights behind ...

I have 31x10.5 simex centerpedes and if i air them down to about 10-12psi they go very well in sand. As long as you dont floor it in soft sand they dont do to bad at 32psi either
