Is that James Compagnon's truck? Think it was also sitting outside the ARB store in Dubbo this time last year.

Either way, would like to get a better look at the join of the B pillar and the new C pillar.

Would you have any close up pics?

Thanks evil 73.

Sorry for the late reply.

If you are able to muster up some pics along with a build up report, I'd be very grateful.

Cheers

Middy roof options

Hey guys,

I've done a quick search and cannot find what I'm after. Have also PMd Meldge but he appears to not check his e-mail ( or isn't here any more).

I'm giving strong thought to playing (removing / cutting down) the FRP on my middy.

Main hope is that it will reduce the COG (truck has around ...

They should permit more down travel so just be sure your brake lines are long enough.

Mind you, longer shackles will alter the shackle angle (longer shackles will be less angles than stock). This will leave you with a harsher ride.

Look into the lockable drop shackles, possibly revolver style if ...

I'd suggest going for 33x10.5s. Narrower section will allow the tyre to stuff into the well more easily.

I swapped from 12.5 to 10.5 and find that the uptravel improves, especially in the rear.

Ditto on removing one of the shortest leaves. Run it for a few weeks then re-assess. I removed one leaf ...

Roly (like you'd be strong enough to lift the roof off),

How does it look?
I assume with the rear doors it looks somewhat naff but that aside, is it ok looking?

I was toying with the idea of chopping the rear part of the roof off (still keep the bit over the driver plus the raised part ...

have a chat with ARB about some Dakar springs. If yours are the original ones, they may be best of replaced and having a longer warranty. Probably worth considering if you're looking to work your car a little harder ( you want to get Mickey T's right?)

Re-grooving tyres

I have some Simex tyres that I want to regroove. I'm looking to get a few mm in the centre as the outer lugs are pretty good.

Anyoen got any advice, and where can I get a suitable tool for the job? Gonzo, you can piss right off with your Steak knife suggestion :finger:

I live around the corner from Maroubra (Bronte).
I can drive it up in a day and you can fly me back the next with V. Blue
Cover the fuel and a taxi from airport back to my place and no worries.

PM me if you are interested.

Greenback!

A: Anyone who has watched Dangermouse (ok mis-spent childhood) will know that that he wasa big Evil Toad. It would also make a cool brother to Kermit

B: Its probably gonna cost a shit load of greenback to pay for it anyway. :finger: :D

Wouldn't have thought so. The 75 and 78 chassis is essentially identical, and I recall 4wdmonthly doing an article a couple of years back saying that they were.

if it doesn't fit, i've got a 73 series so I'll be glad to take it of your hands and make use of it :D

jake (as I mentioned on O/L)

Try replacing the temperature sender unit in the t'stat housing.

As a test, get one from a mate's working 73 or 60 series and chuck that in. If it returns yours to normal, go and buy yourself one!

Not sure about the LSD on ALL ( unless mine is completely flogged out, probably )

Looks like a 70 series ( as opposed to a Bundy)

Personally I prefer the look of the Icelandic trucks on that site

I should think so. i was looking at the rear bench seat of a troopy and it looks the same as that in my 73 series. I think the interior of the three 70 series should all be compatible. I guess just measure the dimensions of the holes and that should tell you
