Re: High mount mods
Thanks brad that was the sort of feedback I was looking for. I understand I could quite easily complete these mods myself but just wasn't sure if there was better value in having them completed by a reputable builder. I would also like to have the free spool looked at, it won't free spool easy ...

Winch already has a 6hp motor and I also wired in a TG Thompson solinoid to control it. I'm looking to reco the winch as it is weeping a little oil from around ...

Don't think it will work as both front and rear driveshafts are offset. Will there be any difference in the marks adapter plate? does the same hilux case bolt up to a cruiser box? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FJ-Landcruiser-V8-Ford-C4-Auto-Gearbox-Transfer-Case-/160718206544?pt=AU_Car_Parts ...

Re: Suzuki- First Time Comp Truck Build
Just noticed a c4 auto on ebay for sale with fj transfer using a marks adapter.
What is the difference in fj and hilux transfer?
Would it be worth buying and building up the transfer?

do you know what sort of auto your motor came out with if it was an asian warner you should be able to bolt the bellhousing from an auto sr20 to a hilux auto and just get the torque converter modified If I were to do this, it would limit me to a hilux auto. I want something simple light and ...

Been doing alot of thinking. I'm now thinking of using a trimatic with hilux dual transfers. Does anyone know if there is an adapter for this? Re: Suzuki- First Time Comp Truck Build
You got to decide, Comp car or Rego car. Completely different spec. Alot of comps in NSW don`t need rego anymore. Build one to do both means wasting alot of coin with stupid engineers and rules that wont make a very good Comp rig. A good start: Comp rig needs, v6 , auto, dual hilux-cases, 60 series ...

sr20 is a huge job, why not just do a 1600 16v and work on the suspension not trying to deter you but it gets real depressing when you bite of more than you can chew and cant see the light at the end of the tunnel, just do the necessities first and work on a power up later would be my advice My ...

Yeah all valid points. Was wondering if there was a particular tire that was prefered by most? So far everywhere I read and look i see Treps. I'm not sure about what and how many comps run in vic, Maybe I should start a thread on that first. If there was a particular tire tired that was used by most ...

Suzuki- First Time Comp Truck Build
Hi there everyone, Been wanting to build a comp truck for quite some years now but never really had the funds or time to do so. Finally circumstances are right and I have been able to make a start. Re: 4.2 conversion from rb30
Start ringing wreckers and watch ebay.
4.2's have slightly different diffs (diferent ratios) and gearbox.
I would be looking for a complete car. Diffs and gearbox are not hard to come by, but TD42's are getting rare but still out there

Ok thanks very much. I have read alot in the calaisturbo site but couldn't seem to get to the bottom of it. an r33 5 speed is considered the best value upgrade for a vl turbo and is a dirrect bolt in. I'm just wondering if an r33 box would bolt upto a patrol transfer? If I do need a new gearbox of ...

Im posting this for a friend who is looking for info in upgrading his 1998 landcuiser ute. The things he is un-happy with are ride quality and performance of rear LSD. RB30 gearbox issue
Just got a new toy, RB30 patrol 1992, 280000km. I puchased it from a mate for $1000. body and interior is pretty good. motor sounds fine when running but seems to have carby issues. The gearbox is where the problems are, when my mate purchased it, it was already loaded on the trailer when he picked ...

Re: Differences between RB30 and TB42 driveline
Ok guys, thanks for all the replies.
Just trying to get my head around diff ratio's.
Is 3.9 - 4.1 or 4.3 - 4.6 a better ratio to run with 35's?
Or neither?
Because the rb's are a revy engine and not alot of talk, what would be good ratio's?

Re: Differences between RB30 and TB42 driveline
Ok I'm toying with the idea of a rb25 conversion.
If I was to use a rb30 patrol, the rb25 should bolt strait up to gearbox and engine mounts?
If I use tb42 diff"s and run 35"s, how close to factory gearing would it be?

Differences between RB30 and TB42 driveline
Hi there, Do all petrol GQ Patrols share the same driveline? Are gearbox and transfers the same, or does the rb30 have a lighter gearbox? Are diffs, dif housings and axles the same? I would imagine all driveline components mount using the same tie rods, control arms and mounting points in same ...

OK 5 mins of reading about brunswick diesel on here and I've already decided against it. What other options are there? Or should I just bite the bullet and buy a 4.2?
