The Pump i would suggest taking to a diesel fitter, it looks like it should be a straight swap over for the top section of the pump as all L series engines im sure used the same core, with the exception of some 2L. a diesel fitter may be able to do it in a very short time, but you need to be verry ...

the oil gallery runs along the side of the block in a straigt line, you can pretty much draw a line horrozontal to that bolt, and it goes nearly from one end of the engine to the other. the things to knote however is that the oil between the filter and the frount of the engine will contain ...

Main causes of bad fuel consumption i come accross is lack of compression and lack of efficient fuel delivery, both of these may be in your hilux. i suggest that as it was shortly after they where fitted you check the glow plugs are tight and not leaking, an easy way to do this is to spray soapy ...
