The oil gauge is not linear unlike an aftermarket unit.
In my 75 Ute with a 2H and DTS turbo the oil pressure(when hot) was showing near zero on the gauge at idle, before and after engine rebuild. The real measured pressure was still excellent though, more than 15PSI at idle(from memory) which was ...

Probably the quickest and cheapest considering the 1UZ intake system in already designed for maximum torque down low not top end power. All those mods mentioned will release (much) more power up top that's all. A nice whipple supercharger(or Eaton *shudder ...

I've found it easy by having all injector nuts cracked at the same time. Do this first. Bleed the main filter and use a small plastic tube on the bleed screw as to not let air back in. When all the bubbles are out, close the small valve, and close up the primer pump. The leak problem is very common ...

Is this something you can do as a preventative measure on a healthy engine? Would you recommend doing this...once I've had the top radiator tank seam re-soldered?

I would only do it if your engine bits are corroded already. It certainly works though. After, just put in the proper amount of ...

I tried silver soldering some 8mm rod to the gear but the bond was not quite strong enough so I ended up MIG welding 2 8mm threaded rods to the gear. I used these and a bearing puller kit to gear the gear off successfully. I had found another timing gear around the traps for nothing, so I could ...

I've inadvertently put/smacked the crankshaft timing gear on backwards. Being helical gears the teeth setup will be now half a tooth out so I can't leave it as is.

Why did Toyota stick with the 4 speed box and not put the 5 speed Auto in that they use in the petrol V6 ?

Most likely cost cutting but maybe with such a large torque spread from the engine the extra cog may of only had a negligible performance benefit, if any.

Find some good welding cable. Most insulation is PVC in whatever colour but if you need more flex then rubber insulation can give you that.

Electrical cable is properly rated in the cross sectional area(mm2) of the conductor. 35 or 50mm2 is a good size for what you want.

Work out your cable ...

If ya like the black stuff buy a petrol, but if ya want to go offroad a diesel is always the go!
