Not sure about ontrack with diesel, but i know they do nice petrol turbo work.

Sandy has a nuts turbo that no one else has or even come close i have driven JPC turbo's and yes they make power but to late in the rev range not what your really when you want low down grunt.

if it was me just sick wit jpc they do awesome work and cheap, look on everyones comp rig they get there turbos done by jpc

what garrett turbocharger i have to use?i want power at low,mid and high revs.
what must i take in account when building the turbo manifold?
can i retain the standard exhaust?
what other parts do i need to complete the whole conversion?
what size of air ...

You may get more in melbourne but no gaurantee, plus all the hassles that are involved or he could just be persistant and wait put his price up in qld.

cant believe your speedo is far out...

when i first put 35's on my GU yeah it was about 10% but with 33's that seems a bit extremem i went out a few times with 35s and my 3.9 in my wagon it wasnt that bad in the bush.

but i ended up putting 4.6 and now its overgeared and would go ...

you wont loose anything buy fitting a 3" exhaust and getting a $200 tune done.

The amount that ATOC charge i think is crap for the same thing.

i ended up paying around $300ish with turbo smart boost controller and i'm happy at the moment.

But if i want more ...

get some genuine GQ free wheeling hubs thats what all the comp truck use for the GU diffs... or manually lock the hub in but time will take its toll on it anyway.

IPF make a great bulb upgrade its similar to doing a loom upgrade but you dont have to.

they bulb is called ipf fat bulb i.e its a massive bulb with a white light seen a few done and as soon they get stock i will be putting some ...

depends how much power your after....

if you want to do it properly i would go different manifold and a roller bearing turbo and a larger snorkle....

you will get much better results doing this if you choose to do a mtq upgrade you wont notice stuff all...

cage is about $2000 depending what you get in it.

seats from $500 onwards

harness about $350

fire extenguishers $200

other things like first aid kit and proper recovery equipment. could add up to another $1000

Thanks for the replies. Will the 4.5 box will fit where the orginal prefilter was, or will i have to mount it somewhere else? Also what are the relative costings from the reckers for one of these boxes.

probably will have to mount somewher else but if your going to the extent of bigger air box ...

If you need a bigger airbox either get one made up or get a GU 4.5 litre air box they are the larger units and will flow enough air.

However if you need a custom fit sandy at aus4wdracing has built many custom airbox for high powered turbo diesel and turbo petrols.

Yeah but you dont acheive anything from chopping it to a style side tub, may aswell leave it as a wagon.

If your running a tray as soon as you get past the cab you can turn :twisted: and there is less crap to run tyres etc on.

you can chop like everyone else has but if you tub the rear of the shorty i.e. keep the base of it and just remove the roof you will have better wait distribution and it will handle better at speed.

4" snorkle may be worth dropping in.
funny you mention that, lookin at Mannys GQ at the Ateco, he runs what looks like twin 2inch pipes for a snorkels/.... which i would have thoguht would be less efficent than 1x3inch...

go the diff lock i blew up LSD before i left for europe only 60k old and then the gears from the LSD went through my CWP and there went a 4.6 ratio.

So yeah definatley get a locker you will get more use out of a rear locker than front.
