Going on 6 years now :) Don't get me wrong, it should be dead... But it just won't let up! Even with the waste gate wired shut hitting in excess of 55psi and aas much fuel as it can take. Frequently get the Pyro to 700deg post too... It's some kind of deamon engine! Haha that's awesome! Any vids of ...

Only catch is they don't mind a bit of a drink, though they're much much much cheaper to buy and service than a TD. Big trucks, super capable, comfy, well built, mine didn't get any water in it stuck with it half way up the doors, fit bigger tyres easy. The front end has a glass jaw if you abuse it ...

Interesting
Good to see those Runner/Surfs are still getting into it (I searched Stalkerbook), haven't been on here for a fair while. Been many moons since I flipped Nem 1 now!

Re: FZJ105 GTX35R 700hp Turbo Build
Now that you mention it, I couldn't agree more lol...
I have been so accustomed to people quoting a set figure, but assuming he hasn't made any changes to the driveline over standard to change that variable, there's no way it's losing 300hp in the driveline now!

Re: FZJ105 GTX35R 700hp Turbo Build
There is no way in hell that is making 500rwhp. That number would be 382rwhp and the title of the thread must pertain to the 700hp turbo which doesn't mean the motor will make that, never does. My thoughts exactly. Dan From what I've seen/heard, AWD 105's tend to lose not far off 50% driveline at ...

Re: NISSAN GQ FRONT DIFF WHEEL TO WHEEL INTO 105 CRUISER
As a few of us said at lcool, why bother basically?
Build the Yota diff and you WONT break it, it will be stronger than the GQ one, and have better clearance underneath.
Oh, and the slight fact you're thinking about spoiling a Cruiser with Nissan crap lol! Would you put a Ford engine in a Holden?

Re: Brake upgrade on 4Runner
The rear brakes won't help at all, even if you put Porsche ones on there lol, the majority of your breaking force is in the front.
Best bet is V6 4Runner calipers and master cylinder etc. Should be plenty of old threads in here I'd imagine, if you search around.

Re: Fuel consumption- 6 ltr in 80 or 100 series
For reference. My auto 105 1FZ is turbocharged (W2A intercooled) and with standard gearing, running 315 MT/R's (that measure 35.6" rolling) I get around 15L/100km on the open road loaded with camping gear (going of gps and recalcuating, not the wrong speedo). About 20L/100km in slow hilly (read Blue ...

Re: Locked torque converter do's and don'ts?
Yeah the concept wasn't mine, nor hard. The hardest bit was finding out the right wires etc I wonder what the clutch differences are between the Niss and Yota? Also, for the LED. I'm using a nice crome bezeled LED from Jaycar ($1.75), the only catch I discovered is they're 2v, so you need a resistor ...

Went and bought the rectifier today, had to get the next size up because coincidentally (or someone sniped your idea lol off here) someone had been in the day before and bought their entire stock of bridge rectifiers in your link from Penrith Jaycar :? Re: Locked torque converter do's and don'ts?
Thanks mate. I mainly installed it for towing and driving at speed where the ECU likes to continually en/disengage the lock up. I basically made my own version of this for $200 less, but with less hardware and more reliability: http://www.automatictransmission.com.au/release.asp?NewsId=12101 ...

Locked torque converter do's and don'ts?
Posted this at lcool but its pretty quiet there these days, so the call goes out to the Outers techies too! After a lot of research I've finally made my own manually lockable torque converter set up in my 2001 FZJ105 (4 speed A442f) Now, it seems much better driveability in lower speed situations ...

Power to the ground side? ATM I have switch (tested it with a break in the LUC line, results are awesome drive wise) with Power getting 12v from Ign, Ground is Earthed, Acc is Solenoid. Re: Manually sending 12v to an ECU output line = issues?
What I'm after is a constant LUC signal the entire time as per factory, except for when I want to manually lock it with the 12v signal. So in effect 'OFF' is the original output signal from the ECU. In my last post by an on/off switch I was just meaning the utilising of a rocker switch in cab. I'm ...

Ok thanks, sounds simple enough will have to dig out the multi. I'm having a mental block day! Manually sending 12v to an ECU output line = issues?
Just wondering what if any implications there would be to this? I'm talking about a torque converter lock up circuit, one wire from the ECU to the solenoid. When the ECU sends 12v the lock up does it's bit. For the sake of using what I already have in the shed (a nice LED rocker ON/OFF switch) and ...

Re: Funny cat like sound in 4Runner
Sounds a bit like a high pressure air/vacuum leak, you know like when you crimp a balloon and let a little air out? Maybe those RPM is your max vacuum range under load. When you apply the brakes the vacuum assisted brakes absorb some of the pressure and eliminate the noise from where the air is ...
