Re: Idle speed adjustment - GQ Patrol on gas
What does it idle at on petty? Mine idles about the same on petrol and gas, 750 ish. Idle is adjusted the same way, via the idle screw on the carbie. The large screw inline between the mixer and the carbie is (from what i'm told) a flow restrictor that only works at wide open throttle. Mine is wound ...

A mate did this to his chev v8 diesel powered 47. He bought big 4 inch chrome jobbies and he had to move the tray back to fit em. Personally I hate it, too loud and looks ridiculous. But hey whatever oils your gears.

Anyone grooved a set of centipedes? I know you can groove out the bridge on the centre lugs, is that it?

Might be worth running a balance tube between the filler bungs. Couple of 90* hose tails and some oil resistant hose is all you should need, oh and some hose clamps of course. Common problem on landcruisers and that seems to fix it.

Re: GQ Factory Rear Swaybar Disconnects
No sway bars in mine and it handles pretty good. I put my rear one back in once and it didn't make a noticeable difference and a front sway bar does virtually nothing. The front suspension has a very high roll stiffness and works like a giant sway bar anyway so it will body roll but stiffen very ...

You may have some crud in the system and when you pushed the piston in it's pushed the crud back into the master cylinder and under the skirt of the seal on the piston. You might get away with a quick pull down and clean out.

Re: x link and flex arm??
I see your point, but these arms are not legal to be fitted on a registered car in QLD. Neither are my now 3 inch coils and 32s. At least the dodgy cast arms I have are technically legal. Don't confuse me saying legal with stronger, the superior arms are obviously much stronger and much better ...

Re: fj45 2f petrol ignition problem
Not tried roll-starting. With ign on and points open, I am getting 12v to the coil but only 0.7v from the other side of the ballast resistor; which immediately gets so hot it starts to smoke. I will try replacing the ballast resistor today, but I'm now thinking there's a wiring short somewhere in ...

not identical - they dont have bridges between the center lugs half way up the tread depth for stability. Is that what they are? I thought it was the (awfully tall) wear indicators. Ripper, my ETs are still legal...sort of. nar the wear indicators are further down again on the simex - most people ...

It's a sleeve that slips onto a damaged shaft, particularly where a seal has rubbed a groove into it.

You can temporarily bypass the ballast resistor. If left bypassed permanently, it will burn out the points quicker. But at least that way you'll be able to rule it out if it still won't fire.

Re: x link and flex arm??
Huge expense no, trial and error no. For all we know this suspension eg shocks ect is what the customer insisted on.? $1300 for a pair of 5 inch arms is expensive enough but add $490 each for the SRC shocks just to get it to work better looks awfully expensive to me. There are a massive amount of ...

It was this that I was unimpressed about as my mates truck, of which the whole kit was installed by Suspension Stuff, braked unevenly when pushed hard, handled like a bag of. on the road and was outflexed by my shitta with a radius arm bolt out. Re: RW KW, rear wheel kw
1 KW = 1.34 HP
Rule of thumb is HP at the wheels = KW at the flywheel. That's very generalised but close enough. You generally lose about 1/3 of your engines power through drivetrain losses.
