Interco don't make the Ground Hawg, they were made by Denman.
I don't believe these are available anymore as Denman Tire Co., the manufacturers, filed for bankruptcy in 2010 and their assets were sold.
I could see no reason to run these. There were a few sets in the country years ago, but ...

You'll find there are very few comps running in Vic at the moment.
Speak to an engineer before you start buying parts you might find you can't engineer for road use.
IMHO there's not enough comp stuff available in Vic to bother building a "comp" car - much better to build a capable recreational ...

mick54 - assuming there's some adjustment in your arms somewhere, wind in some more caster as a starting point.
I set toe parallel on my off road cars, although that's predominantly because I run bias ply tyres, not radials.

There is NO "bolt in" wider axle. Even WT axles aren't a bolt in - the spring perches have to be moved to suit the NT chassis mounts.
The only reason to consider hilux axles would be if you were running 33" tyres or bigger and breaking suzuki stuff.
Wheelspacers are the cheap and easy way to add ...

Anything over 2" os overboard - it will ride terribly and won't flex.
The best lift you can do on a sierra is cut the guards or run a small (2") bodylift to run a bigger tyre.
Low is the new lift. a lower car is more stable and more predictable.

May well be true, but there's more money in a vitara rear floater than a whole early rangie. When you consider the other useful stuff from the rangie ( most of the suspension, transfer etc) it starts to make more sense to use a rangie as a donor IMHO.
Personally I think it might all be pointless ...

It won't make any difference if the axles are already set up for links - they are likely to be in the wrong spots - as an example, Patrol chassis are much wider than suzuki, and the radius arm setup on the front of a GQ is rubbish - it doesn't flex on a patrol let alone a sierra. Rover will be ...

The cowl on a coiler is a different shape so the bonnet doesn't line up with the cowl - there re photos somewhere - it's pretty ugly.
The leaf bonnet doesn't line up with the coil grille either.

Hilux diffs+stretched wheelbase= hilux capability.

I am looking at building up a Suzuki as a weekend play truck.. Just wondering what model to use?
Things I will look at doing:
Cut into a single cab with tube tray
Big tyres 37's or bigger
Big lift etc...
Bigger motor..
Hilux
By the time you have done all the work to run 37's, there's no ...

Technically yes, but you won't get those tyres certed on a jimny I'm afraid in Vic* - they are more than 50mm bigger than the largest tyre available for the car.
*It might be possible, but the amount of work you'd have to do isn't worth it. You would need to prove that every engineering parameter ...

Tubes. Tubes aren't illegal.
I own lots of tyres with bead damage from removal/refitting. Not sure I've seen any so bad I couldn't get the beads to seat though.
It's tubes or the bin I'm afraid.

Round 2 fight!
Its a trade off, filtration vs performance.
I run a large uni filter, i know its not working as well as a paper filter but that is of little concern to me.
Make the choice on engine life vs engine power.

Mickbeny, I think you're wrong, and I think you've proved it in your post.
A Dirtbike has a large filter for what it is, but not a large filter based on the CFM the engine is consuming and the environment its operating in. A 1HZ has a well sized filter for general use, but in an extreme ...

I think an SR20 would be an excellent conversion into a vitara as long as you could work out how to keep the front end together.

Yes, but that just means your shackles are too long or your shackle hanger is in the wrong place. RUF, regardless of how it is done, is a balance of shackle length, bumpstop height, caster, and chassis extension/spring hanger setback.
It's not totally trial and error, but there's a bit of figuring ...

It wouldn't be shit if it was aluminium, it would just cost $495748587678.
Plenty of high end cars have aluminium chassis, (All lotus for the last 10 years or so, plenty of audis...) and there's even been a rock buggy built with an aluminium chassis (very complex and expensive though)
It's steel.

Are you sure? The NT spring hanger is much smaller than the WT hanger and has much less room to redrill the spring bush bolt hole.
I suppose it's possible, but it's even more hack than "normal" 1/2 RUF.
