1hz would be the cheapest option mate. if u were about 3 weeks earlier i had my fully rebuilt 1hz for sale. i wouldnt go for a 1hdfte only because of wiring and all that fuss. 1hdft 24 valve would be my choice no electrics.. but again dear as poison. not much fuss if you have a loom that plugs in ...

Re: 75 series cruiser HELP
how did you raise the inner guards 60mm?
also one downfall i see is that the flatter springs make the shackle end stick out more which is more likely to hit rocks hmm

Re: WHATS THE DIFFERENCE??CASTROL MULTITRAX AND EPX????
when i first looked up the castrol site and saw it said GL5 after reading GL4 in my manual, this confused me, and that is what got me to do my research. from experience of my own and from the recommendations of many others, i would recommend VMX-M for the gearbox/transfer, EPX 80w-90 for the front ...

Re: WHATS THE DIFFERENCE??CASTROL MULTITRAX AND EPX????
just after a quick google: Hi Guys, I have an Email from Castrol dated July 27, 2007 about GL4 vs. GL5. This is an excerpt: "API GL-5 gear oil designates service of hypoid and other types of gears commonly found in rear axles. A GL-4 oil may be employed in certain manual transmissions. These ...

Re: WHATS THE DIFFERENCE??CASTROL MULTITRAX AND EPX????

Re: WHATS THE DIFFERENCE??CASTROL MULTITRAX AND EPX????
you dont run GL-5 oils in the gearbox/transfer GL-5 has a chemical in it that eats away at the copper synchros in the gearbox when i got my 75 from dad the mine mechanic through GL-5 in, the box was clunky and hard and the oil when drained was awful! threw some GL-4 spec VMX-M in and it was smooth ...

did a little research, apparently the k085 diff (this number is also stamped onto my little metal plate in the engine bay) represents the fact the car has a 9.5" diff with LSD in the rear. anyone else to confirm? in that case, the only 9.5" diff on the arb website is suited to the rd152 locker which ...

that only applies to the rear diff of the hzj75, right? the front diff is 8", yes? bit confused though, on the arb website for air lockers it says that the locker for my rear diff is a rd142, and it says that an rd142 is for the toyota 8.9" diff? so yeah, what gives? my hzj75 was built in late 97 ...

lockright locker compatibility
hey all, i've been looking around on their website and throughout google for somewhere showing a chart/list for applications on which locker fits which car. i did however notice that on the locktup4x4 website that the 40 series 9.5" lockright and the 73-75 series 9.5" lockright have both the same ...
