Re: Hj47 5 speed swap speedo cable
Hi, the hj47 rear drum brake assembly should be interchangeable with a 60's series drum setup - the one with the handbrake ;) So just grab a complete rear drum setup from a 60's series and bolt it all on. Make sure you grab the handbrake cable and mech etc while you're there. Then you don't have to ...

Re: fibreglass 40 series project
Hi, your best bet is sell off the bj 5 speed - they're worth a fair bit these days. The fj and hj gearbox has the same input shaft as hq era holdens, so no need for special clutches - just make sure you get a heavier duty clutch. I've got a 308 in my fj40 with dellow bellhousing and 60's series 5 ...

Re: dics brake options for 65 fj40

Re: 22r to 18r
Hi, part of it depends on what vehicle it cane from. Whilst essentially they're all the same, the hilux 18r performs differently to the Celica 18r and so on. Mainly due to different carbies. Egr effects it too. Don't forget they're a 30+ year old engine sometimes too, so some are getting very tired ...

Re: 22r to 18r
Hi, 18r will go straight in where your 22r is. Only thing is some of the bellhousing bolts don't quite line up - i think one or two....... 18r is plenty torquey, doesn't rev too hard. They are tough, but not bulletproof. A 32/36 weber makes a world of difference or manualise the vac secondaries on ...

Re: 40 series shorty
Hi,
how is it too short? Ie what/where is it too short? Have you taken out the rollbar from the soft top? They usually sit pretty high up and would stop most hardtops from fitting
