Thanks for the pics, some nice setups there :)
Might have to get under the surf and see where I can mount a tank.
Cargo space is so bloody small in the surf (especially with a sub and speaker pods) that I'd rather run the tank outside the car.
Just a question with setup. (probably a stupid ...

youll also need to take into account the new arb compressors cap at 80psi. so you'd need about twice to three times the volume of a tyre to even consider it for airing up.
The pressure switch that it comes with is 70-100PSI. Are you looking at the right model?
I think there is a smaller version ...

The surf diff is the same as a the 4runner diff yeah?
Chick at the diff joint is having problems finding a supplier. For some reason she is having trouble finding parts, nothing is listed under surf (duh) and they wont confirm anything else.
I thought the IFS diffs are pretty much the same in 7.5 ...

I'm picking up a 1995 3l TD surf on Tuesday.

Im wondering what the costs will be to wack a decent system on it... Not overly fussed about the noise, I've got extractors on my hilux now that are loud.
Probably run stock boost on it now (may change it later) so would ...

Available in australia is the Skyjacker class II 4" IFS lift
prices start at $1815, you will gain more flex on the front and if you install lockers front and rear you will have a capable rig.
depends on how hard you want to drive it off road and what terrain you are driving.
Much cheaper then ...

I am a bit wary of Diesel. Heard maintenance costs are quite high compared to petrol/LPG. Also heard you need to service the deisels more often... Be interested in hearing the thoughts of deisel owners on that :)

Hi All,
Been thinking about upgrading my 86 hilux to a newer surf or 4 runner.
From what i've seen, most Surf's are 4cyl and 4runners v6's
Id rather petrol then diesel, and I dont really care about 3k to lift the front and rear of an IFS (going off the price of the kit from snake)
I like the ...

To Quote the mech "The thermostate in the choke is weak"

so 4runner seats bolt up to extra cab? I no they don`t bolt up to dual cab
The surf ones didnt. Drivers side did, needed to drill a hole because the passenger side rails on the surf seats were smaller.
So if 4runner seats are the same as surf, 4runner seats wont bolt straigt in.
