Took the car to the auto elec on Monday. It was the bushes in the alternator, he reconditioned the alternator, all up cost $242. I was pretty pleased with that seeing as though he told me a replacement, at his cost is $530 plus GST and labour.

4 Runner warning lights.

Just hoping for a bit of advice. I have an '89 4 Runner, 2.8 diesel. Today, the following warning lights came on the dash, fuel filter, timing belt and charge light. The timing belt has only just been replaced 1200 kms ago, there is no water in the filter and there is no problem with the battery ...

I'm in New South Wales, far south coast. Spoke to Kaos 4 x 4 in A.C.T today he reckons the tough dog 2" springs with Rancho 9000's are a good way to go, he said extended shackles or a body lift need engineers report here in N.S.W. Yes thought about it but what are legalities in NSW and what is the handling like on road, probably 90% is on highway and the wife also has to drive it!!!

Yeah thanks mate, my first time on a forum, I have been reading a few but havn't been involved. Are your OME springs the 2.5" or the 40mm lift which is the only ones I can find. What shocks are you running.
