Hey Dumbdunce, Thanks for the info...... but now my brain hurts!!!!! Could you pls explain what high-flowing is & how other turbos are more efficient. Are you talking about turbine size? Where does the CT20 fit in the scheme of Garrets, DTS etc.... When I was having the engine rebuilt last year I ...

Thanks for the replies...Been away from work for a few days. I've just been driving up the highway all weekend & up big hills full-throttle in 4th it's just hitting 700 C. The placement of the sender was on the advice of my regular 4WD workshop & the diesel shop that custom fitted the I/C. The I/C ...

Exhaust temps - 2LT

Hey boys & girls, Just had the pyro installed. What sort of exhaust temps should I be seeing, & what's the upper limit? It's a 2.4TD Bundy with intercooler running 8-9 psi (yeah, I know - would've been good to have the pyro before the i/c...). It's installed in the manifold before the turbo. I've ...

Got a Safari from a 75 on mine. Fits perfectly except for a small (1/4") gap at the top of the guard.

Dude, Heed the advice of these guys. It's seriously heavy going once the storms start. Don't even think about the rivers yet - check out the main road - you can drive the family wagon to Weipa in the dry but you'll be working hard & slow in 4wd after a couple of storms & the rangers & council dudes ...

Join Telstra, spend 10 years amassing your dream tool kit, then forget to hand it in when you quit....

Now I'm not sure an $800 multimeter that doubles as a heart defibrilator is required to check light globes, but who am I to judge???!!!!

Thanks vitarajim, I tried the Nulon last oil change & it seemed to take the edge off the noise (or was it all in my head???). I might try a few different additives like the Lucas stuff humphey tried....or some fluffy floor mats.....or a 6.5 Chev & extractors...... Thanks for all the tips, lads.

Thanks boys, I was curious more than anything. I'm quite willing to put up with the noise for those insane ratios. Dumbdunce, I had them installed by my regular 4WD workshop dudes & they pulled them out & checked everything after they were installed, & again a few hundred km's later. I've probably ...

Rock Crawler gears in 75 Series

SQ, or anyone running a 75 Series t/case, I've got the Marks gears (-68% low / -8% high) in my diesel Bundy. I was just wondering if anyone else with these gears has that beautifully ear-splitting gear whine. I've had mine for 2-3 years & when they 1st went in, the t/case was pulled apart 3 times to ...

Hey lads. I'm an occassional lurker here but thought I'd better add my 2 cents on this one. I'm no mechanic, so I'll just tell the story :- I've got an '89 2.4TD Bundy & just went thru a full engine rebuild (oh joy!) After approx. 1000km & my 1st trip on the freeway I was having exactly the same ...
