GQ TB/TD tacho signal. What voltage & waveform?
Does anyone know what voltage and waveform (AC or pulse DC) the TB and TD tacho signals are? And hows many pulses per engine revolution? A screen shot of an oscilloscope would be handy if anyone has one.
Alternatively, does anyone know if an Autometer tach adaptor will control either TB or TD ...

The 07 model is built in Japan, and the 2010 model may be built in Thailand (can't remember the change date exactly). There is a few differences between the two models. A lot of differences between Spain/ Thai D40's too.

Has anyone used Warn's MOSFET control box on their Highmount?
I've got a sticky solenoid in my control box and looking for a better alternative.
The MOSFET one looks like a go'er as they are solid state, but I haven't found a price yet and I can't imagine it being cheap.

Need photo of fuses and fuse cover- D22 Navara (VG33)
I bought a cheap D22 the other day and it has some fuses missing, as well as the cover. I managed to get it running after finding out the injector fuse was missing.
Can someone post up a pict of their interior fuse box & cover (clearly showing the label) for their VG33 D22.

It should have the FS5R30 box. The QD32/ ZD30/ VG30/ VG33/ YD25 D22 engines all used that box. Same as RB30 Patrols/ Skylines/ VL Commodores, RD28 Patrols, (RB20/25 Skylines too?)short stuff wrote:Stuffs me its a 2003 model manual diesle
Nissan is pretty good in this way as heaps of parts are interchangable.

If the D22 has the FS5R30 gearbox, wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to fit a box & transfer from an RB/RD GQ wagon? Saves cutting and flipping diffs around.

I've got a set of MQ manual locking hubs for sale. Does anyone know if they fit the GQ/GU?
I've had a look at them side-by-side with my spare GQ ones and they look identical. Correct??

I doubt it, the GU knuckles are a lot bigger.patrol_uterus wrote:Is it possible to do this on a GU ?
I never ended up going through with the swap. The tie rod was going to hit the panhard mount and the hassle of the conversion was going to outweigh any benefit.

Re: BFG muddies, Removing rim protector?
Out of all the people I go wheeling with, I'm the only one with these tyres, and I'm the one with the most leaks. Pretty sure the rim protector has something to do with it. I think this may be the reason the new Mud Terrains don't have the rim protector. Do any other brands use a rim protector? Can ...

BFG muddies, Removing rim protector?
Has anyone tried removing the molded rim protector from their BFG mud terrains (older style ones)
All the rim protector does is scoop mud into the bead and create leaks. It's really starting to s#!t me. I've got 2 tyres that go dead flat within days.
What I want to know is has anyone tried to grind ...

Don't buy a Spainish D40. Thai D22 have noisy body mounts under driver/ passenger feet unless they've been fixed properly.Roffy88 wrote: any ideas or knowledge on what some of the bad things are to look out for on these cars?
