Re: Baleno motor to Vit
Excellent. Will be getting a Baleno import motor for my 93 LWB Vitara. Newer motor, less kilometres and a damn site cheaper than a Vitara donk. (mine dropped a big end bearing at a very inconvenient time) Can anybody tell me if same is true for the coil pack types. Not sure what the motor will be ...

Re: vitara cv upgrade?
if you do the hagan mod with out doing the left cv change right away, do you have enough shaft length on stock cvs for the locking hubs to work? Hub locks will still work, as axle at that end is held in position by the locking clip. I believe there would be enough movement of the inner cv to still ...

Re: vitara cv upgrade?
I have fitted a GV steel front diff/axle housing. I did the LHS to RHS axle conversion. Mine uses a GV axle support bush, not a bearing, and is half a left inner axle welded to a half right stubby axle. (By a professional drive train welder) I chose this route because of money, and more room to fit ...

Re: Sierra SPARTAN LOCKER in Vitara SUCCESS
YAY TEAM We are now locked up front. No issues with using a Sierra auto locker into a Vitara. As long as You have the 2 pin type, which every one seems to have. And use Sierra 4 pin type side gears. 2 pin type MAY foul on locker Same fitting technique, except you start at other end. It took a while ...

Re: SPARTAN LOCKER INTO SIERRA CARRIER PIX
Locker fitted perfectly into Vitara carrier. Was unlocking on floor with lots of effort. Hopefully driving will unlock it more easily. Diffs back under car. Can't test yet, need to fix up a cv boot and stuff, and fit the drive shaft tomorrow. Will hate wondering all night if locker will work right ...

Re: SPARTAN LOCKER INTO SIERRA CARRIER PIX
:? :? PS EPIC FAIL :bad-words: This was to be fitted into a Vitara. One Vitara drive shaft is fatter than the other, did not allow for that. :? Got diff and locker all together ...but alas Vit shaft no fit into sierra carrier. :x Made drive shaft fit with grinder, to test locker, but of course it ...

So the pins don't work loose with the 5:12 gears.
At least I hope it works.

Sierra SPARTAN LOCKER in Vitara SUCCESS
SPARTAN LOCKER INTO SIERRA CARRIER FIRSTLY. I am not a mechanic or a qualified diff fitter. This is just how I did it. Not necessarily the correct way. As instructions supplied were not relevant to a 4 pin Sierra carrier. They were to suit a 2 pin, with open access. Just another note, instructions ...

Re:
They fit fine, the "quirk" is that the id of the ring gear is larger so you need to retain the centre pins from falling out. This can be done by peening the case over the end of the pins, buying a commercial fitting kit that includes a sleeve to hold them in, or any number of . If you don't do this ...

Re: lockrite Sierra and Vitara front are they interchangeabl
i think sierra rear lockright is interchangeable with the vitara front diff but not 100% sure inbits It is possible, just need to use the Sierra carrier and side gears, 22 0r 26 spline depending on which vit front you have. I have decided to use the trail tough lock rite, for vitara, from low rang ...

Lots of zookers alter the diff ratios from stock, so always best to count teeth and do the maths, if buying 2nd hand

lockrite Sierra and Vitara front are they interchangeable?
Powertrax Lock Rite locker.
I'm told by many that the locker for Sierra front and Vitara front are interchangeable, yet the part numbers are different. Can anyone shed light on this for me?
Thanks

Sometimes Ya win. The old holes to locate top shackle point, from a mistake I made when originally fitting the shackle springs, have turned out to be the perfect position for the new longer shackle, Angle is more pleasing, rides a bit softer, too. Though that could be cos I am running the bolts a ...

All done, best match I could do. Have started modifying the camper trailer to suit the new Vitara. Nothing earth shattering, just had to adjust the hitch to keep it level. It was leaning to far down at front. Now its leaning back a bit while empty, but should be level when loaded. If not will add a tad to shackle lengths. If I do ...
