really good thread about that on patrol4x4 where oldmav actually measured the harmonics and the effects different weight crank had. it not the torsional load so much as it is the harmonics I believe and removing a bit of weight out of the clutch brings that harmonic point down further into the ...

How about captivating the coils at each end, ie bolting them to the spring mounts. If I did that to an off the shelf coil would it be possible to stretch it beyond its capabilities?
