Airbags and Body lift, specifically, why not?

OK, so I know you can't do a BL if you have airbags. And I know it's because of the airbag sensors.... So why can't you just move the sensors to suit? Like you would barwork to have it sitting in the right position again? Honestly, I have no idea what the sensors look like and how they're fitted, so ...

Re: anyone got simex mp trekkers?

Also, lowering tyre pressures is not so much about bagging them out (east-west) but increasing the track (north south). The two work hand in hand, but there are variances in different brands as to how much.

Seriously, everyone's an 'expert'.

I'd check that this applies in Australia, then I'd say go for it if it does. We are so confident in the quality of these winches that we are offering a 3 year Warranty. In addition, we are certain that you will be completely satisfied when you see it and test it, that we have a 14 Day Return Policy ...

Heavy Duty Torsions - Worth it, or just wind up?

Is it worth upgrading to heavy duty torsions, or just wind them up? It's for a Triton, but I see that as irrelevant. I'm adjusting for accessory sag (20mm-ish) plus going up probably 2" and fitting bigger tyres (up 2 sizes). I'm happy winding up for the sag, but if going further, should I upgrade ...

What's the question mate? Can you do it? Are the 4.11s a straight fit?

They're a slider. Or 'Protection bar' as they call it. Probably wouldn't put them on a comp truck, but they'll do me fine.

I'll get some pics of the ones on my mates truck and post them.

Re: Slider Mounting points

have you looked at ARB sliders? My housemate bought an ex ARB truck yesterday, and when we were picking it up, I asked for a price for the Triton... $650, $115 fitting. With the chequerplate tops. I was going to have some custom made at mates rates for $1000, I think I'll just get the ARB ones now ...

Re: Slider Mounting points

I would mount sidesteps there, but not sliders. put 1500kg of truck on it and they'll bend REAL quick.

The 1st gen 4runners mount factory sidesteps to there.

U-bracket to the chassis rail, the only way to go.

2" body lift and 33x10.5's will only rub at full lock when the front or back is tucked into the guards. I understand that he doesn't want to go too crazy, but I don't see 33's as too crazy. the extra clearance will come in handy too.

A gearbox that was bolted to the back of any truck with an L series motor. You'll just need the bellhousing too. +1 for stick with the G52. I've looked into it before.. $450 rebuilt. Apparently rebuilding it yourself would usually only last 12 months or so until it flogs out again. The reason I was told is that it's all about getting the correct amount of 'free play' in it and it's a very precise rebuild. My mechanic said he didn't even ...

Ive seen the car in the flesh just after it was built. It did that Canon Ball Run race many years ago now as well. It was built in a shed out Redland Bay way. Yeah same, great looking thing. Remember salivating over it before I was 4wd-bug-bitten. http://www.reocities.com/dfmoawad/ute1.html ...
