mine has a lean to the drivers side to i was temped to remove panhard rod myself but though after removing sway bay probably not a good idea has anyone else removed theirs?

i have avm manual hubs fitted
they feel very nice to engage and disengage
but rockies come out with both
i believe mine had autos from new

front diff problems

hi all,
i have just discovered that my front dif has a broken tooth on 1 of the side gears.
which has damaged the crown wheel
so no 4wd until i fix that sucker so my xmas trip is probably off,
i would love to be able to put a diferent dif centre in so i can get a lsd or be able to put a locker in ...

gearbox noise

after drowning my rocky in deep water and getting water into gearbox and transfer case, I have flushed and changed the oil about 5 times now,
I am getting a whine coming from gearbox, only in 5th gear at about 100+kms/hr.
i used castrol epx 80/90 gear oil for both but after looking in the manual ...

i am guessing i was in the famous boghole out at newnes as i was around that area heading back from glowworm tunnels
so it is a common thing to get water into everything in rocky
i was going to put a snorkel on it but now i think it may not be wise as i would be more inclined to go into deep water ...

Aust Rocky and Water

I was away week before last and went through some deep water
which was great fun all around but i got water into cab my starter motor failed afterwards(due to dirt on solanoid) water got into my tranfer case
all round what a disaster has anyone had similar probs with their rocky?

just phoned this morning and yes they do 1 for the aussie rocky front and back
but it is not an air locker only fulltime lock diff (like the lokka lock-rite)
sorry to jump in but i will look at getting 1 as any diff lock is better than none

where did you get them for that price?
it would be worth my while paying some freight
and f100 rims will give me more offset will they
that might be a better option as they are for off road use only so 2nd hand rims won't matter

yes i am going to have 2 sets of rims and use the simex for off road only as this is my everday car and travel 140kms a day so i will not be using them everyday
i have been quoted $915.00 fitted and balanced with new rims
so i am thinking that is pretty good
i am going for 8"rims to get a bigger ...

mate, i now own my second rocky and as far as i am conserned they are a great vehicle.
i have the turbo diesel rocky and it goes like a shower of s#$t
the only problem is there are not alot of aftermarket upgrades and mods availiable for them
but i recon go for it if it is in good nick and ...

Sorry guys but as a mechanic and a second rocky owner all i can say is "DOH"
i know the plug you are talking about and i has a metal safety tab and says do not fill so please take more care when doing diy on cars as it can be very costly
also silastic is not a good idea but perhaps a helicoil ...

This is my second rocky my first was a 1985 F80
3y 2L petrol motor
mods were:
long range tank
2" lift
winchmount bull bar
shelf and draws in the back
dual batteries
driving lights and lights in rear cab

my new rocky is a 1992 F75 resin top
2.8L intercooled ...
