condenser fan

a quick look over the vehicle (wife's been driving it for a while) and I noticed that the condensor fan was not turning (with the compressor going). A quick look, and I immeadiately thought the fan was dead. A quick call to the mitsu dealer. Couldn't get just the fan motor so it had to be the whole ...

About three weeks ago, coincidentially when I accidentially put some of that nulon lead replacement into the tank (grabbed wrong bottle), the 2.8ITD developed an annoying problem. When It gets started first time for the day; starts fine, warms up fine, drive about 1km at warm up speed, and the car ...

thanks for the feedback. It looks like the old girl is still doing its thing after 220K. I can't complain, our friend's 100 series cruzer was getting 22km/100ltr ( that hurt at the fuel stop) towing the same weight.

towing with a NJ ITD

just got back from a trip with the camper in tow. I seem to be struggling with the towed weight. last time we went out I thought the old girl was reaching its use by date, although after some normal driving , the economy returned to a healthy low 10 litres per 100kms. The 31 inch tyre do not help ...

CV grease

(not sure what happened to my first attempt at this post, my apolagies if it shows up later) My query is; how much grease do you put inside the CV boot. Why; the clip holding the boot on broke, exposing the CV joint. Got a new clip, but how do I know if the CV joint/Boot has enough grease ? thanks ...

thanks for the advice. the turbine does spin, but it doesn't free spin by hand (not that I expect it to). It doesn't blow any smoke (unless under hard labour such being stuck on a hill). Rob, mine will pull off an idle in the high gears, it's just that it seems to take a lot of throttle to get it to ...

my 2.8itd had done just over 210K and I reckon it doesn't have the power is used to. it feels like the turbo boost is coming on later than usual. admittantly i've gone to 31x10.5 tyres (up from 30x9.5), but it isn't as responsive down low. the turbo seems to come on at closer to 3000 rpm, where as ...

yeah van is heavy, but I was comparing it to last time I towed the van. Air filter is fairly good, although I did go back to a paper filter after the foam one fell apart. The paper filter has that plastic spiral thingy over half of it which may be effecting the air flow. thanks for the comments.
