Maybe with a new, meatier clutch your not getting the rod travel needed to disengage clutch?
I had to run a GU 1-1/6 master in mine for this reason, but you could also get your slave sleeved...

Same cam spec as a standard 165kw engine I believe. Only differences between the non stroked 5 litre motors were factory bolt on mods such as the addition of knock sensor, extractors, exhaust, memcal chip & cold air induction. I just put a 185kw HSV engine in my Patrol but used a standard VN ECU...

Holden V8 into GQ (Holden power steering)
I have a GQ with a 5 litre holden conversion that runs the original power steering unit using a Marks kit. The problem is that it sits right infront of the throttlebody where I plan to fit a turbo/supercharger at a later date. I see some members have ran the Holden unit on the drivers side in origin...
