Thanks for all your responses. After posting this question I continued searching and found that SR5's have the automatic disconnected differential setup on them. Leave the shifter in 4H and the button on the side operates the transfer case to engage the front driveshaft and lock the front hubs. Was ...

I have just purchased a 94 SR5 with V6 commodore conversion. Not sure if it was the best move but time will tell. First problem I am having though is the transfer will not change into 2wd.
