Superior shock tower spacer
Finally putting my suspension in, went to fit the shock tower spacers and something's not quite right. The id is far too large for the bolt size, the head of the bolt is about 2mm off being able to fit through the spacer. Anyone used these? Going to either buy larger fasteners or have some other ...

Ford dual stage thermo TD42
Hey Guys, wrote this up previously but it was lost when the forum went down. First off,yes I have checked the bible and searched, to no avail. Some good info on the subject, but not exactly what i'm after. I've picked up some EF/EL thermos to fit to my TD42, and would like to use their dual stage ...

Re: GU 4.2TDi front mount intercoolers
Take some measurements without the grill and check out what core sizes are available. You can usually find something to suit for cheap on fleabay. cut out behind the grill if needed for clearance. I'm sure there's a whole heap of expensive options available, but this has worked for me time and time ...

Re: GU DUAL CAB CONVERSION? anyone done 1
I bought mine pre chopped with no rear screen. It's just flat steel with horizontal supports. In the process of cutting in a rear screen. Grabbed a GU ute glass, made a template, measure, mark, plasma, tidy up, then call the glassie to come take his measurements and cut something to suit. (GU screen ...

I work for Cummins. If anyone would like some measurements I'm happy to grab them for you, however I don't know how successful a conversion would be.

Re: GQ fuel gauge not working
Both my petrol wagon and diesel ute did this. Checked the sender with a voltmeter and it was fine, traced it back and somewhere from the wiring plug under the passenger seat to the sender there was a break in the wire. Cut the wire and put a new one in running it through the conduit with the rest of ...

Re: gq/gu Ute rear window
Yeah, I thought about having a sliding window, but i'd probably prefer to have it solid. Had thought about templating any shape, but would prefer it be standard Patrol in case the shape I cut looks odd. I know it's not going to be bang on the exact same size, but the glassie is cutting up the piece ...

gq/gu Ute rear window
Getting ready to cut the rear window in my dual cab, and to avoid it looking silly I'm trying to find either a gq/gu ute rear windscreen, or rear panel with no screen so I can take a stencil. I had planned with a local auto glassie to go around and cut a stencil, but after organising everything and ...

Laminating Diffs
Changing out my suspension and putting lockers in in the coming weeks, and I thought while everything is in bits I should brace up the front - and maybe rear diff. A boilermaker friend of mine will be doing the actual welding, I'm trying to decide on weather I should cut up my own gussets and ...

Re: Reversing cameras
The previous owner of my dual cab had done the conversion with no rear windscreen. A two channel TV, rear facing IR camera and one directly above the towball. Worked fine for him, but I'll be more comfortable once I've cut the window in.

TD42 Fuel pump Modifications
Hey Guys, Chasing down some more power from the oiler. Currently has a small turbo running a 16psi fart through a crossover pipe with a standard fuel pump (leaky) and still, pulls great. If I re-sealed the pump I'd expect good power. But I want more. I've spoken to several fuel pump rooms across the ...
Re: HOT TD42
You could even just use a piece of thick wall steel pipe and bevel the edges so it doesn't restrict flow too much and tap the threads in that.
Re: HOT TD42
I've always used an autometer or VDO gauge and their supplied fitting, blocked off the standard one and tapped a thread in to the thermostat housing. You can get little in line adapters that are like a piece of pipe with a hexagonal block, cut an inch out of your top hose and fit it. They can come ...
Re: HOT TD42
I forgot radiator cap. Keep a spare - make sure it's releasing pressure at the right point. Your radiator shop can test your cap/supply a spare.
Re: HOT TD42
Mine currently runs two small thermo fans at the front and doesn't get hot. I'll be changing that setup out for the falcon twin thermo and shroud for personal preference though. In my experience, if you're getting hot there's a pretty basic procedure that works most of the time. It's also good ...
