Yeah, 4BD1, IsuzuDieselSwapper Adaptor plate, 700R, Adaptor (bloke in SAfrica makes them, or easy enough to make), LT230, combo would work very easily.

The adaptor I read rotates the LT230 slightly to clear the front drive shaft off the auto sump. Either need to move the engine forwards (putting ...

Any developments with the a auto (any) behind the 4BD1?

I am considering doing such a conversion.

Came across this while doing a little research.....

When a ZF4 series transmission shifts to 4th gear, clutch pack element "F" applies, which then allows the rear planetary section to lift and ...

Apart from the better pedal feel, would you say it stops better (than when the drums were in good condition)?

Stops better? In terms of daily driving - well not really, if that was the only reason to change from drum to disc I wouldn't bother.

Drums would lock my back end up no problem on tarmac ...

Just done a drum to disc conv on my county as one of the cylinders on the drum brakes started leaking and I had a set of rangy axles lying about.

Used;

1. 16mm laser cut brackets for caliper mounts
2. Washers to space out the above bracket with longer bolts
3. Rangy rear end hub and disc.
4. Rangy ...

Anyone have the galvanised cappings that go on the top of the rear bulkhead of a cab ute? The piece(s) that then the rubber from the roof sit on when you bolt it up. Can be of 110/defender or series vehicle I am told.

I put some seats out of a classic range rover.

Drill the indents on the slider plates out.
Bolt them to seat box.
Slide on seat.

To get to the battery, just slide the seat all the way forwards and off the rails, and lift out of vehicle.

I am sure the 4BD1 would be a great engine drivability wise in front of an auto.

Most effiecient, can be fully stopped while wading.

More exspensive, more lilely to be shagged from water/mud.

Cheaper than electric. Less like to be shagged.
