you will find it's the rear layshaft/countershaft bearing,common fault on sj 5speed gearbox's

worth changing all the bearings as they have all done the same mileage tho

the engine is a renault 1.5 and the diesel jimny is widely available throughout europe
except for england (guess where i live?)

i saw these modified ones at 4x4 salon in Val d isere last year

they were fitted with ironman coil lifts, koni adjustable shocks,8mm skid plates and 195x15 chaco ...

it's usually the red wire into the headlight, remember the system is negative switching

i have had 3 grand vitara's and run 225/75/16 BFG AT's on two of them and 235/70/16 cooper AT's on the one i currently own

although i have now got a OME coil lift both the above tyres fitted without touching (for some reason the canadian built soft top gv2000 rubbed in reverse on full lock ...

i took a picture of it with the roof tent at the side of the lake, then i read about the gear sets in your window only to realise you were asleep in the jimny!!!

they had a combination of iron man coils and koni adjustable shocks and 195 x 15 mt retreads
they were also 1.5 diesels (renault engine)

i had a x90 here in the uk and the biggest tyre i could fit was
205/70/15 AT which rubbed slightly under heavy braking while turning
the australian x90 had a different coil spring according to the parts fiche so you may not experience this problem
