Link Numbers and Going Fast
I have just finished modelling my buggy in sketchup which has been great, being able to move tubes and axles and motors and such by just clicking is great. Now i have just pulled some dimensions off of my design and plugged them into the 4 Link Calculator. Now i have been reading the Link Suspension ...

Modification Laws regarding Light Trucks
Hi, Im just starting to look at modifying a light weight Dyna 200 Truck. It is a 94 model and it can be driven on a car licence. I have been given the truck for free to use as its the family business's old truck and now only get used to move a little excavator from time to time. The plain is to put ...

Re: Diff widths
What sort of overall width would be best for an all rounder buggy. My main use for the buggy will be social wheeling but would like to be able to run events like Aust4 or tough tracks. The more i think about it im leaning towards keeping it at Patrol/Landcruiser width at a max as there the most ...

Re: Diff widths
I will be running at 67" wms for the front and hopefully a little less in the back. At least with 67" wms on a D60 front you can still use all production parts so spares are easy to get you just use ford and Chevy axles. I think this is the best compromise between width and availability over here.

That was how i was thinking, cut put a sleeve in and then grind a big bevel on both ends of the tube and weld it up. The run a truss across the top from c to c.

Re: Converting Dana 60 Passenger drop to Driver drop
Evan, I might just do that by the time i buy an Lt230 and then adapt it to the transmission and put a rebuild kit into it plus the cost of converting the diffs i would be getting close to the price of a used atlas, plus with an atlas i get front and rear disconnect and better ratio selection.

Re: Converting Dana 60 Passenger drop to Driver drop
This is trying to be a budget build, But the budget is looking less and less possible. If i ran a 205 i would probably put a doubler in front of it something like a 203/205 setup but that adds extra length that im not keen on. Im looking towards the end of the year before i will be ready to start ...

It also works for class 8 in the AORC I think they need to follow that, make it look like a full bodied rig but not have to worry about a 30 yr old chassis holding up in a bad rollover

For $60 you could get two of these and mount them side by side for cutting brakes, A lot cheaper then cnc cutting brake setup.evanstaniland wrote:Will 80 series disc and hubs bolt on? Or 60?

Cheap adaptor is made for about $300 and a case is about $350. It also has a lower ratio low range. You will kill a hilux transfer in no time.
