with the availability in aus you would be better off with a patrol diff wouldnt you, the rear h233 is strong enough for most things and the h260 in a braced housing with stock axles will be a lot cheaper and should be just as strong as the unit above, availability of gears for the big patrol one ...

drop boxes would be a bit more complicated as there is nothing flat to bolt to, my a frame is much higher on the diff with the lowers in the same spot, diff sits straight so i think it should be ok but im yet to drive it

whats everyone using for brake lines? are you just using one of the standard rover lines to both patrol front calipers or one rover to each partol caliper?

cooled a bigblock in a valiant with an ebay cheapy 3 core and factory vn fan/shroud, would think the availability of cool air in rear mount would be better than an engine bay packed fender to fender

run the commodore radiator with factory thermo and shroud, if it doesnt cool it get an ebay 3 core one to suit commy so you can use factory fan and shroud easy

thanks guys, Nothig will be happening for a while so wont be bothering any buisinesses yet, just wanted to get an idea on which way to go mainly 80 vs gu as i can probably get a set of 80 series diffs cheap. why build a h223/80 hybrid is the 80 centre not strong enough?

weight for a buggy wouldnt be too bad, only way to do it would be a hydrostat setup, direct driven variable displacement pump (ie no gearbox) to either individual wheel motors either series linked or fed through a good flow controll setup ,or 2 motors attatched where the tailshafts would be . would ...

i would definately be looking into the sender, you can make the oil too cool and its just as bad as hot oil, on a stock engine if its not getting hot i wouldnt bother, i may end up running one on mine but only if it gets over the top, will probably run a cooler and pump on the transfer case before ...
