you need to lift the shroud.
I had same problem when did my bodylift and broke the shroud while I was gonna get around to it, went years without a shroud ( Pilbara based too ) but as soon as it had to do any work on the beach , in the sand/mud or it was working real hard then the temp would climb ...

Re: Bolt on turbo upgrdae - 13BT/12HT/1HDT and 1HDFT
I've just had a Plazmaman W2A intercooler custom made and Graeme will be getting my 80 for one of his kits as soon as that is fitted - I cannot wait :D :D :D
Geeez, I'd hate to ask how much a custom plasmaman cost you. :) and I'm sure you will love it. When is it going on?

Re: running 2 different tread patterns
I'm running MTZ's rear and ATZ's front and can't say as I've noticed any problems. As long as they're same size/profile it shouldn't matter

Re: dynamatt or resonmatt?
sticks like poo to a blanket but I don't know how long it will last for. Am fairly confident though as it seemed like quality stuff. They make some good audio gear. I didn't realise the cost comparison was so close though. Won't hesitate to tell the sound shop to use Dynamat in doors when I upgrade ...

Re: dynamatt or resonmatt?
I just did a price check on dynamat vs jaycar stuff. NZ pricing.
It came out for the same price as a 3.3 square metre dynamat pack (36 sq feet) you get almost 4.2 square metres of jarcar stuff. The jaycar is 1.5mm thick, dynamat is 1.7mm thick.
What is resonmat?
Did you factor in the x 10 ...

Re: dynamatt or resonmatt?
Jaycar also make a sound deadener/heat shield and I've just put some in the rear of my wagon. Would imagine it to be a bit cheaper than Dynamat and can't see how it could be any less efficient. Won't know how good it really is until I do my doors but I think it improved the rear section considerably ...

Re: transfer case can't select low range
happens all the time with my 80 and I just give a huge squirt of CRC on the linkages to free it up again. Only happened since the body lift but that was more coincidence I think. Old mate of mine who has serviced Toyotas for decades knew all about it and put me on to the CRC. Could be completely ...

whatever I got they're not the same as I had before. Could be out of a 100 series (more than likely)

Re: advice on 80 series seat upgrades.
I've just put buckets out of a GXL in mine and after 10 years with the the old standard seats it's sheer luxury.
I'd try something similar before buying or making mounting brackets etc

52mm gauges
I'm after some 52mm gauges and was wondering what type you would recommend.
SAAS are tried and true and will probably get the nod unless any of you mob can make me see the error in my judgement.
I'm probably going to settle on EGT, Oil Pressure & Boost (this one is negotiable)

Re: 93' 80 series body lift (help)
This is the one mod that I would not do if I had my time over again. It's a pain in the butt job that isn't worth the hassle in my book. :x Requires removal of radiator and headlights to begin with and all up about 2 days of your time and you need an assistant.
