Driveline thud/clunk

Hello, When I engage or disengage the clutch there is a loud thud. Its as if the clutch is either engaged or disengaged ie there is no slip. Happens in all gears but only on the upshift. Its gets worse the higher in the rev range that you shift. The clutch was replaced with a Safari HD approx 50,000 ...

I Had a nail go through one of my STT's kinda on the corner of the tread where the side wall meets the tread. Small hole easy to fix NOT! Tyre guys ( I took it to two cause I didn't believe the first guy) could not repair it because of the new fandangled cross ply. Apparently it moves as the tyre ...

Unlikely the winch will fit to ARB bullbar as they stick out an awful long way. Mine has a bull bar and the winch is behind it but the bar sits almost 400mm from the bonnet. I imagine you could adapt a bar to suit maybe with some infills back to the chasis but doubt you will find a bolt on one ...

i had the same problem a while back, I found the leak at the slave cylinder and replaced that as a unit $40.00 from repco. Literally a 5 min job. Ended up replacing the master as well $135.00

So easy the fix when i finally got around to it. I went through about 1ltr clutch fluid first though.

Upon further reseach this ring i am talking about appears to be the clutch for the auto locking hubs. Is there another part i need to purchase or just remove this and bolt the new hubs on?

Auto hubs to AVM help

Hi Guys, I am trying to replace the auto locking hubs with AVM ones They don't quite butt up. There is a solid metal ring about 2 inches in diameter in the way. It appears to be held on by a circlip and possibly another clip which i don't recognise. Is it part of the original auto hubs? Can i safely ...

Body mounts and 1" Lift

Hi folks, I have the dreaded (by me) knock under the floor pan. This started a while back and is getting louder. it is also worse when wet (definately body mounts right?) I recently fitted 33" Mtrs which rub on the inside of the rear guard under full flex and twist and am thinking if I have to ...

I would describe the steering more as vague rather than tram traking If I were to turn the wheel going into a bend (say a slight bend) what i would normally expect to be the correct amount, the car may not move at all. So slightly more wheel would then be applied until the car turns in ...

I checked the tyre pressures after they where fitted. Pressures ranged from 40 PSI to 48 PSI Good old tyre shops aye Am now running them at 36 PSI all round and dropping the pressure did help a little. The steering damper was replaced approximately 6 months ago with an Old man emu but its not a RTC ...

New tyes, handling

Gidday all, I have just fitted 33x12.5x15 MTR,s to my 88 GQ LWB and the handling s pretty crap compared to the 31 inch AT I had on. I expected some degradation but this seems a bit excessive. The car tracks along ridges on the road and bumps throw it off line. Is this normal for the more agressive ...
