Just wondering if anyone with an old 40 series has had any issues with the fuse box getting hot when head lights are turned on?

Adjusted valves found 3 and 4 had tight exhaust valves... adjusted them up.

hello i ihave an fj 40 wondering how much of a hassle to change from was a 2f now a 3f, to a 2h diesel. engine kms and year are unknown but engine is free. is it worth changing? aledy have 5 speed so will fuel economy be better or worse?

diff ratio wouldnt make a difference to speedo cable speed as cable is on the gearbox. you would be doing a different speed to what speedo says on dash

could also be fuel primer pump. if its not holding vacuum itll allow air in and cause this problem.

the circlip is on the front of the counter/lay shaft, i have tensioned the rear nut on the 5th gear. it says the front circlip is how u take up the axial movement. i take it using a thicker circlip to pull the bearing in tighter...?

trying to fit the fibreglass bonnet on my swb cruiser doesnt wanna line up tho.

found the answer.... just fit a 2f fuel pump...

i have fitted a 3f petrol engine to my fj 40 landcruiser was wondering what the 3rd small fitting on the fuel pump was for? and also wondering if some one could post a picture of the vacuum line plumbing as i do not no where each vacuum line goes to. any help would be much appreciated

its not the door thats the problem..... its like the roof is to far forward and is holding the windscreen panel to far forward but i cant move it back with bolt adjusments was thinken of trying to bend/pull the hole roof back 1/2 an inch or so?

has anyone got a wiring diagram for a 77 petrol cruiser. i found a diagram for 71 model but all wiring colours are different. wiring not my stronest point and im rebuilding from ground up with cut and mis matched harness any held would be great

how do u move the axle back? lengthen chassis or reverse springs? half way through conversion and want 2 no whats best way 2 get around body - wheel clearance. its been a mission so far moving body mounts and such. fitted 5 speed and cut gear selector holes and fitted 75 series diffs for hand brake ...

has anyone seen a ute tub conversion done on a swb 40 series cruiser? wondering about rear wheel - cab clearance?
