Yeah Frog..

I live in the big smoke, so I try and keep the daily driver thing to a minimum. I'll measure the tread depth today, and keep an eye out on the distance I drive between noticible wear until they're stuffed.

It's what this forum is all about.. "try it, love it - pass on the good word" or ...

Hey..

Theguys I got them from was running pro comp tubes in 'em, but obviously the wrong size.

Not that I'll need them with a Vit on top. It'll be interesting to see how much run I'll get out of them. I was planning to just throw them on for wheeling, but as you can imagine, once they went on ...

Good eye guys!

Yeah, the guys who fitted them were obviously not on that day, and I was busy finding out that the tubes I had in them were too big for the tyres!

I didn't put them on until a few weeks later, so yeah.. not happy.

I'm going to get it reversed this weekend. About 5 minutes, and some ...

New Shoes!

Hey All!

Here is the result of a little snip here a little BASH there. I still need to bash a few more centimeters into the firewall to stop the rubbing. Maybe I can limit the steering?

I would need to limit back about an inch at full lock.
Any suggestions as to how to get that done?

Regardless ...

Hey Mick - Not sure if we've met, but the Suzi pix look awesome! Thx.

Jim - Caught up with Paul at Vic Winch.. I think he has MONSTER plans for the remains of the Vit.

I will be getting hold of the winch bumper, and some other useful bits.

I posted some Vic Winch pix at www.3rdrock4x4.com in ...

This gives me plenty to work with. While at Vic Winch earlier today, I got an offer to fork lift the damn thing to check left/right lock from under and get the damn things to fit right the first time.

I'll post pix once done.

Pix of cut guards on SWB Vit please!

Hey All!

I just got some 31" mongrels the other day, and will need to make room under my 2" body lifted Vit.

Can anyone post a few pix of what they might have done to theirs?

I will likely only need to chop behind the front tyres, as a new custom bumper will be making room up front.

Anything ...

Hey Nicbeer..

I just put some bendix pads into the front of my vit. They make a 4wd compound which is said to be better in the wet. So far no complaints. Don't know what the pros have to say on the materials used and/or their performance. For my dollars, I thought it couldn't hurt to go for ...

The exo on your ride is shet hot.. I've been using it as a basis for my designs. And to show the wife how much better life will be with pipes all over.

Anyway, I've heard that you can rent pipe benders around Melb. If you were closer to town Sikid , I might have suggested to join ...

Straight to my archive with these!

Mud4b,

Stuff like grill, horn, maybe a spare light to mess with. Also right hand (plastic) rail trim. Was thinking of proper rails.. but now considering an exo..which would go beneath that..and mine got done in by a boulder in Boho.

Suzuki Wreckers in Melbourne area?

Hey All..

Need a few bits for a 92' Vit .. on the cheap like. Trying to find a wrecker around town.. but no luck.

Searched the archive, but with this crew calling everything a wreck I got more search results than I can sort through.

So, anyone know a place?

Thanks.. :)

Thought about the checker option, but heard that there isn't a thick enough option in the pattern. I would think the minimum I'd be after is 5 mm or so. Its a light car..but if you have all of it balancing on that one point.. :?:

Ridin' the rails..

Hey Guys..

Had me a wicked Boho weekend with some 40s and Landies. The Vitara did alright considering the size diff. and lack of good rubber.

As expected ..you gotta pay to play. I did a good job scratching, and bending my (stock plastic) rail sills. I knew they would go eventually, and now ...

Vitara stalling once in gear.. any ideas?

Hey Folks..

My 92' (auto) Vit is having some serious troubles getting from idle to go.

Gave her a good flogging on Fraser Island over Christmas, but she came home to Melbourne in good shape.

Now when I start her up, she idles fine, but once I go to reverse or drive..she just dies ...

Hey Matt..

Additional options for lift would be a body lift (2 inch is most common, least pain.) and or coil spacers. Looking into spacers myself at the moment, it seems strictly lift and little if no wheel travel.

Body lift is the go if you're planning on those taller tyres too. Coil spacers ...

So..the tables turn!

I will likely be doing a 2" suspension lift next year. So, let me know how it goes for you. I've hear that Calmini does a lift kit, as does Rock-Steady (4" and 2.5") .. both are $$$. I'm hearing that OME is the way to go..

Good Luck! :D

Exhaust Manifold Gasket for 92' Vit

After an exhaust manifold gasket for 92' Vit, to go with extractors. I've called Repco, and some other exhaust shops around Melbolurne. No joy.

Any leads would be much appreciated.

It's a SWB '92 Vit. Liftin for rubber not looks. Thinking about getting BFG M/Ts ..31s should do the trick. That or Goodyear MT/Rs. Something for on/off road, as I'm planning a trip to Fraser Island at the end of the year.

Just got an O.K. from warranty folk for a lift. The zook lift section is good value, but is there anything I should know that is Vitara specific?
