I have been looking at buying a particular hiliux 98 3.0 turbo ,$7500.
250 000 ks seems in reasonable condition my main worry is how long do the turbo's on these models last would it be due for work at about this amount of milage .Also have never owned a hilux before what is this model like in ...

I am just curious to know if this has been done before . I know of a few chevs in the u.s that have been converted but havent heard of this being done to a landcruiser .I imagine it wouldnt be an easy conversion electronically

Isnt it the gear that strips the spline on the output shaft ? Seems to be the weakest part of the gbox .It is no myth that they do this .There is a modified gear that has a wider spline that slips straight on ,but pto must be removed .That was the case on my hzj 75 anyway .No turbo but 100 000 ks of ...

Hi all just wondering if anybody knows if there is a conversion kit available for duramax and alison gearbox that would suit a 100 series .
