Yeah i can't see why not, the other filters only a "pre filter" anyway and most patrols only have one filter anyway!
All 3lt and most GQ's only had one. I say if it feels good, do it!

Yeah just a straight motor out motor in.
Well that's the plan anyway! Figured with everything easy at hand i should be able to smash it out in a bit over a day.

How long to remove 80 series 1HZ??
Hey guys, had trouble with the search function so thought i'd try a quick message on here. Anyone got any idea what the book time to R&R an 80 series engine is? I've got a friend of a friend who needs a motor replaced and wants a quick quote on doing it. Any rough ideas on how long i should charge ...

Re: TD42 Intercooler sizes
hole in the manifold is 60mm, so you might want to do the cool side in 2.5 inch. Yeah i always wondered why i'd heard of people running 2.5 inch pipe on the cool side. The turbo's only running a 2.5 inch inlet from the airbox and the snorkel is just your average plastic snorkel so i don't see much ...

Thanks clanky,

Yeah I'll definatly be looking to rubber mount it and remake the radiator support panel bracket.
Sounds like I'm gonna be starting the next project very soon then!
Thanks for the advice guys, I'll try posting some pics for future reference.

Re: TD42 Intercooler sizes
Cool thanks for the insight mike. Yeah don't have anywhere near that much power, last dyno run saw it pull 125rwhp. I'm still running ac and am comfortable with cutting the grill up to make it fit. Still has a standard inlet manifold and dual batteries so it's pretty tight under the bonnet. So ...

Re: TD42 Intercooler sizes
Really? cause i thought there's a point where they can be too big and end up just slowing the air flow down? i mean the factory ones are only quite small.
Then again i'd be pissed if i fitted one that was too small and have to fit up a bigger one down the track...
What size do you have fitted Mike?

TD42 Intercooler sizes
Hi guys, i've had a quick search for average cooler sizes but all i can find is water to air specs. I managed to pick up an air to air intercooler for the right price a couple of years ago but never fitted it up due to laziness. All i'm running is a standard internals pump with an aneroid top hat ...

Re: turning up Boost on d40
There are different motors hence different outputs. There is the 3.0 cr v6 in the top of the range 550s. Then the 2.5 cr 4 in the all the other d40s. There is also a different common rail in the d22s But is there a power difference for the 2.5's other than between manual and auto? Wouldn't mind ...

I just got mine from Nissan.
Was quite a few years ago now so can't remember part numbers or pricing but was well worth it!
Bearings still come loose due to wear but it's so much easier to tighten up.

Re: plumbing aux tank into main tank
there isn't huge amounts of pressure in the return line from the engine so i guess you could put a T piece in the return line and like you said just pump it to the main tank that way. You'd probably want to put a one way valve in the line leading to the sub tank thou to stop the risk of over filling ...

there are variants in the navara they have one with an output around the 128kw mark then a high output option which goes to 140kw then in the top of the line you can get the 3.0 v6 turbo diesel with 170kw and 550 nm. Well there ya go, learnt something new today  why would they have a ...

it's probably logged a fault code in the airbag module which at a guess will mean you need to plug it into a scan tool to clear the code and reset the module.

hmmm good point, that shit is the bomb!
although it does work better when the engines hot, just means i'll have to scrub harder. should probably go buy some cheap tooth brushes or pip cleaners to get right in there.

Hmm could be a vibrator, check under the passenger seat i'd say!
Either that or a large humming bird, try replacing it with a smaller bird.
but all jokes aside check to see if you've got a broken engine mount or exhaust mount.
