Hey guys, this cruise control system looks a lot like the one on http://www.goldautomotive.nl/web-content-nl/index.php
Which I've installed in an Feroza. Was an easy job and worked awesome. The most difficult thing was to make a bracket to fit the vacuum actuator in such a way that the cable doesn't ...

Did you brace the 2 shackle plates? This should reduce the sideway movement to almost nothing. By testing leaf spring strenght do you mean determinig the spring rate? In that case a simple way is to put the leaf upside down on a flat surface and put a weight close to the center hole of the spring ...

Yip, Daihatsu made but some where rebadged as Toyota Blizzard to fill a gap in the product line up in the late 70's/early 80's.

The petrol engines are toyota's and bulletproof, but no ponies at all..
The diesel engines are rumored to be close family of the 20/22r series Yota petrol engines ...

Re: help with early dishatsue

with the extended shackles and a little cutting i recon you could fit in 31" or 32" muddies with possibly a little rubbing........ but that just means you have to cut more away

The first thing it touches are the springs on full compression and the framerails, so use the right offset ...

Hey Chris that's a diesel engine. But you can use your stock air filter box, cut a little of the long oval air intake behind the summer/winter valve. then you can weld a custom adapter to whatever hose you'll like. make sure uve got all the facory hoses that run to the airbox installed an that the ...

The guy I bought the engine from had it laying under his workbench for 2 yrs. That's really all the info I got on the donk. Time ...

I used this as a reference and then roughly calculate the cut surface of a bolt. To my knowledge using bolts improperly would only occur when you tighten them beyond the yield strength which causes them to break. I think the type of bolt you mention is stainless steel hardware. But then again, I'm ...

With 12 bolts each side that should be sufficient.

A grade 8 M10 bolt pulls more than 5 tons until it permantly deforms, so 12 each side will do the trick

Very nice Gonzo! It seems you have an eye for bargains. You're gonna get the rear back to the original size, or just cut it off and make a trayback out of it. What about flex, no problems with the tires being cut by the wheelarches.

Ron

Depends on how much it has to be raised. Legalities aside, easiest way is longer shackles.

You could use (part of) the original rear spring pack up front. The main leaf is about 10 cm longer, so have them reset at the same height as the rear springs. Do some measurements if this will fit with the ...

Hey Rob.

Is that a Lseries Toyota donk? shouldnt be too big of a hassle though having a complete drivetrain. Engine mounts have to be fabbed. Don't know about the radiator. The DG daihatsu diesel is much heavier than the 12r so they have stiffer springs up front. Maybe you'll have to do that also ...
