Glow plug light flashing
I have a diesel GQ with a flashing glow plug light. When the engine is cold, I turn the key to turn the glow plugs on which works fine and the light stays on for the duration of about three seconds depending how cold it is. I hear the relay switch off and the glow plug light goes out but then it ...

Its definatly running hot, it has never gone more than about 1/2 way on similar terrain when doing a bit of work. It was going right up to near the top on this trip. There is a line just below the H and in the manual nissan say that up to that line is the safe working limit. It was pushing pretty ...

GQ Diesel Running Hot
I have just returned from an eight day trek from Mansfield right up to Tom Groggin via Wonnangatta and Dargo etc. We had an awesome time however on our third day, I was on the link road from Sheepyard Flat heading toward King Billy Track when my GQ started to run very hot after a bit of a hill climb ...

Worn drag link on GQ LWB
Does anybody or has anybody ever changed a front drag link on a GQ? Mine is wearing out and needs changing and was wondering how hard they are to change? I can get it done for $200 but if its an easy job I was considering doing it myself.

How much did the lift cost you? I am planning on buying myself a lift kit for Christmas, at present I have Koni Shocks with the stock nissan springs. I am sick of the standard GQ lights filling with water everytime I go through a bog hole or deep river crossing. The replacements you can get from Repco, is that a whole unit or just the globes? Last time I took them out and cleaned them, I found it a bastard getting them back into the holes, but ...

Wheels/Tyres on GQ
I have a 2" lift on a LWB GQ, currently running 31 x 10.5 x 15 BFG MTRs. I am thinking about getting a 2nd set of tyres/rims that I can put on for going on short trips. Whats the biggest size I can go with my current suspension set up without chopping guards, lifting the body or changing castors etc.

Does anyone know anywhere in Melbournes Sth Eastern Suburbs that are good with GQs? I've got a 1997 GQ 2.8TD that is due for its 200,000 service which is a timing belt change. Roughly how much should it cost also?

I have a 1997 GQ 2.8 TD with 200,000 on the clock and its never missed a beat. The only things that have been replaced are the oils! Its been a very reliable truck and I been very happy with it as a touring vehicle. Its been across the Simpson, up the Cape, countless trips to the Vic High Country ...

Dwaynes, I just went and measured mine. From the centre of the hub to the top of the guard where the flare meets the body of the car was 590mm. Thats with no load in the vehicle and there is probably only about 15 litres of fuel in the tank. Hhave been running around on fumes today and didnt want to ...
